Yeah but saying “cos i dont like it” isnt much of an argument is it. I hate drunken football fans shutting roads and causing disruption every matchday - but I dont say ban football and arrest them.
Lets set the alcohol level at 2 as well - drink is by far the biggest cause of accidents when driving so by your argument we ban alcohol. Simples.
FFS have you ever thought about changing your username to the twister?
Let me explain again -
If you have two pints and stop drinking at 9 p.m when you get in your car the next morning at 8 am you are not going to be effected by alcohol or fail a test.
2 pints = 4 units it takes one hour for the body to get rid of one unit of alcohol and you must allow one hour for adsorption so 5 hours later you have no alcohol in your system,
Have 2 joints between 8 pm and 9 pm then drive at 8 am as above, you haven’t a clue if you are still effected by what you have smoked and you will fail the test.
Why wouldn’t you have a clue? Do you think you smoke a doobie and then sit there for 10 hours unable to walk or something? 2 joints and you would be as sober as the guy who drank two pints by the following morning - it’s not magic, your body breaks it down just the same as alcohol.

I don’t understand why you are having so much difficulty grasping what i have said (now several times)
There is a scale of how our bodies deal with alcohol and its basically one hour per unit based on the strength of the beer % ABV (alcohol by volume)
When you have a joint you haven’t got a clue of the strength of what you are smoking and how it effects your ability to drive, if i drink 2 pints of 3% beer i know i will have zero alcohol in my system 5 hours later you cannot guarantee this is the case 5 hours after having two joints, you have no idea how it would impair your driving.
^^
Of course you have an idea of what you are smoking! It’s called cannabis. You don’t smoke a doobie and sit there wondering if you are going to keel over from the power of it for heavens sake. If it’s strong you take two tokes and put it down. It’s not rocket science.
Do you think you crawl to the car on your hands and knees the following morning cos you smoked a doobie last night? Come on.

I will try a different angle.
Can you tell me the minimum time after having two joints that the effect has wore off and you are safe to drive the answer of course is no because unlike alcohol there is no way of you measuring the strength of the stuff you are smoking and therefore no way of knowing what effect it will have on your ability to drive, you may assume you are fit to drive when you are not.
Looks like the drug test isn’t so unfair after all as it says -
Cannabis is usually only detectable in saliva for up to 12 hours since last use
Roadside drug test detection times
Drugs are detected in saliva for up to a maximum of 72 hours after last use although many drugs including Cannabis are cleared much more quickly. Cannabis is usually only detectable in saliva for up to 12 hours since last use. The advantage of saliva drug screening for roadside testing is that it looks for active impairment, as it mainly detects drugs that have been consumed within hours of the roadside drug test being performed rather than days.
I thought i would add this to the tread rather than start another.
He deserves everything that is coming his way.
