Don’t remember if Drew’s manufactured the springs themselves but I remember they came with a small Drew’s name-plate attatched. We had livestock bodies by Thorne’s, Carmichael’s & Greenhous which all had the enclosed springs from about the mid fifties.
hi iam pretty sure drews invented the springs refered to regards neil b
Here,s another John Heritage moter with a Drew Body use to see it at Taunton Mkt every saturday late 60s when I was a bit younger.JC55

I was talking to a car salesman called Bob Greenwood and our conversation became very interesting when it got round to talking about lorries and eventually cattle trucks and Drews Bodies Neil, I couldn’t believe it when this man told me he’d worked there for years and told me he’d designed the talboard assistor rams. He did promise to get me sorted with some photos but we lost touch and I wasn’t able to find him last time I tried. So, it seems the srping assisting rams did start life there but maybe not directly by the company.
I’ve bought a book of Glocestershire hauliers which contains a lot of cattle trucks. Does anyone know if I’d be breaking any copywrite laws if I posted some of them. I don’t want to drop myself in it

Chuck 'em on here Basil - it’ll be good to see them! No-one knows who you are anyway and I’ll only accept small bribes - but lots of 'em…
Seriously tho, I think there is something at the top of the page about copyright stuff. Nynehead books and Arthur Ingram are two names that spring to mind who aren’t keen on their pics being used but I think there are more… Try it, worst case is that someone will complain and they’ll get removed. If there are credited names in the book, just credit the pic accordingly is how I would play it…
Hello Paul
I’ve got two versions of the book Paul. I have to find which box of my lorry/farm/plant books Julie has buried them in first mind lol.
I haven’t read up on the copyright (spelt it right this time) side of things because I haven’t a clue how to post a picture but I’ll have to sort it out

Hi, BB
Any chance of learning the title of the Gloucestershire hauliers book, please?
Hi ROF,
The 2 books written about Gloucestershire hauliers are titled :-
" Trucks of Gloucestershire " , ( An album of recent photographs, 2011 Edition ), written by Colin Martin.
" Road Transport - Wales & Border " , written by Paul Heaton.
I hope this is of help to you.
Cheers, cattle wagon man.
