He did end it 15 minutes early (should be noted though, the serious was at the start of the test), still not soon enough though I guess.

Commiserations.
Those fireworks etc look familiar
They should do, I stole them from you. It was easier than getting them elsewhere on the net.

Maybe I’m wrong but the test is supposed to last 1h 30 mins right? If so, my test was at 10 and I was back in the yard for just before 11:15.
Thanks for the messages guys, pity yep but I guess nothing can be done to rectify it all now.
Sam
The entire board wanted it for you today. I cant remember anyone else with more good luck wishes. Forget the past most do it next time.
Get it together and next time stop blaming weather and anything else thats not your fault.

Funny you should say that as my Cat C lasted 45 min & I passed as far as I am aware it can last upto that dosent have to
Cat C must have at least 60 minutes on road, CE is 50 minutes. It’s not negotiable and examiners are very aware of this.
Pete
I don’t think my test was anywhere near an hour, certainly not my class one, probably 40 minutes max on the road, but I did get a bollocking for excess speed
A couple of things mentioned, that the range change light is computerised, it isn’t, it works off the position of the gearbox selector, it is on or off, that is your telltale. you can test it just by having the ignition on and switch it over from Hi to Lo
And the suggestion that the lorry has an audible warning, it already has that, it is called the synchro whining alarm.
Maybe the instructor making a pupil feel inadequate is part of their training, some do it, others seem as nice as pie.
When I did my bike test, the instructor pulled me up on the pre test ride, gave me the biggest bollocking ever and I was still thinking about it when the examiner came to get me. He followed in his car with my instructor in the car with him. At the end of the test he said I had passed and on the debrief in the cafe I was told I given a perfect ride.
Don’t beat yourself up Sammy.
You will pass next time!
As some on here will know, I took my C+E test on Thursday morning and I had failed before even leaving the yard! (Obviously I wasn’t aware of this until the very end).
The uncoupling/coupling and reversing manoeuvres had probably taken about 20 to 30 mins, then my examiner still took me out on the road for a further 50 mins. Before leaving the yard, the examiner told me that the road driving part I was about to do would take in the region of 50 mins to an hour.
Obviously, I am glad that I did still go out and do the 50 mins driving as I can use that experience/practice towards my next test, but I guess if had known that I had already failed, I might not have been in the best frame of mind to continue.

Thanks guys and girls, just a bit nervous as I’ve been out of the truck all week and only got an hour to get back up to speed and sort anything out that needs sorting.
Good luck for tomorrow Samster! You’ll nail it this time. Keep calm and even if you think you’ve messed up, forget about it and carry on. The important thing is to relax.
Hi sam, best of luck today for your re-test got fingers crossed for you !
Hey All,
Pleased to tell you I passed with a perfect score. I’m grinning from ear to ear. I’d just like to take a moment and thank everybody who has supported me on these forums and obviously a massive thanks to the training company Jim Mair Driver Training, my instructor Jok and most importantly Jim himself for being the one to give me a chance. It really does mean a lot to me.
Sounds like I just won an award but really, i cannot thank everyone enough.
Thanks again everyone.
Well done bud.
Well done, now the real learning begins.
