Carrier fridges

Can somoene tell me what the main differences are between a Carrier Vector and a Carrier Maxima fridge? Doesn’t really explain on the web site.

something to do with power or output or noise or consumption differences? just different model names? mines got something on it about 1800mt?? no idea what it means though

One is a “Carrier” and the other is a “Maxima” :grimacing:

MT after the number means multi temperature so you will have a sliding door in the back to carry chill and frozen.

The main difference in the Vector unit is that the diesel engine drives a generator. The generator in turn drives an electric motor which powers the compressor.

So the maxima can’t be plugged in to the electric then? Just trying to find out which it’s best to have, I think most people have the Vector probably for that reason…

the maxima can surely plugged in but a maxima is imo too weak for running frozen goods in the summer for example, I was running meat to greece in the summer with a maxima, it wouldn’t go below -21 degrees, while a colleague had fish in his lightweight chereau (worse insulation than on my schmitz) and had it at -25 easy, he had a vector.

Yes, I think the Vector is just a more powerful fridge unit than the Maxima from reading the web site more. Thermoking’s web site is much better, the Carrier one ■■■■■.

I would think they can both be plugged to the mains on standby.Usually the engine is connected to the compressor but in the vector it drives a generator,so really the Vector is electrically driven.
