carna might have a better image than certain other irish firms but saying they are legal is bending the truth slightly

who have ye been talkin to ? ? the Sweden bit is the only truth in that statement.
Irish and legal are two words rarely seen in the same sentence.
Just as a little addendum to the long running thread on Carna, who by the by have been doing it for 40 years, and by dint of economic circumstance and lack of any regulation regarding employing foreign labour fron it would seem just about anywhere find themselves in the position of being able to get someone to sit in their trucks 24/7 using a digicard and do this for trip money, which in reality is a complete cancellation of any incentive, being impossible to chase like a lunatic to earn more dollars, as the plastic card which now rules your working life is also a convenient debit/credit card for every police /ministry in every country you may find yourself. This cunning strategy of getting drivers who work for very meagre wages to then hand over those wages to it seems anyone in a uniform or overalls who may flag them down is a masterclass in treading on the rights of working people, needless to say those being trod on are never in a position to organise unite and complain even, which suits our masters perfectly well.Having said all that, Carna are no better or worse than nearly every other Haulier europewide who are exploiting the current anomaly in the market, which unless checked will lead to the creation of a sub species of humanity who live in boxes year round and spend little or no money, communicate by computer, have no social life, drink to excess to dull the pain, and are despised by all and sundry, still interested in that job■■?
Well said Kev,that sums it up,ever tried to park up after coming off the Newhaven ferry, its a mad scramble to find the last available spot.

Yes, this is true.
If you want to drive a truck around mainland Europe now, you are in competition with drivers who are over the moon if they earn £200 a week. It should never have happened, but it has. There is more dignity in claiming the Dole nowadays.
