Why are the words “BUS LANE” painted on the road confusing to motorists?
Unless I’m missing something? Or unless drivers in Cardiff cant read maybe?
We also have bus lanes in England, it means they are for buses 
Where’s the confusion? Don’t need signs, it’s painted on the road in two languages. If that’s confusing to a driver maybe, just maybe, they shouldn’t be driving anything more than a nail into wood.
My guess - they have been getting away with it up to the point wher Cardiff City Council was given the authority to collect the fines. Maybe they are a bit slow on the uptake down there.

I saw signage there in the photo…sign on the road, sign on a pole. If you can’t see those you’re not fit to drive.
There are signs everywhere telling drivers to stay out of bus lanes in Cardiff. Didn’t stop my wife though, got a fine in the post just before Xmas 2014.
