on last monday i put my card in driver 2 slot and left the services saw the error and parked in next layby tryed to eject my card out of slot 1 where i thought it was and it would not eject,so i carried on to my 1st drop as i was running 2 hours late.
whilst there waiting to unload noticed that my card wouldnt come out of slot 1 because it was in slot 2!
any way changed it over and took a printout all this happened in the Nertherlands appart from trying not to get a tug and adding the 1 hour 9 mins driving to my totals last week and next, anybody know for how long till it gets over written in the cards memory?

not true - I saw one of coffeeholics posts that said it depends on how much data is actually stored on it and not the number of days it has been used.

You wish! It will be on there for several months at least. I had a look back through my card while being unloaded on Wednesday evening and the data went back as far as 17th August 2008, 29 July 2009 back to 17 August 2008 is around 50 weeks! That’s a card that is used 5 or 6 days a week with a fair few mode changes most days.
looks like i gotta keep outa controls for the next 12 months then
do the myths ive been told work to clear the cards memory

Even if they did are you also going to put the tacho unit in the microwave or a cash machine? The data is also on it.
You don’t need to keep out of controls, you have taken a printout and written an explanation on the back so you have done everything which is required in this situation. The only other thing I would suggest is take a second printout, write the explanation on that as well, so you can keep one with you when you hand one into the office within the required time.

putting a card in a microwave will fry the chip and will likely be recorded on the vu as "driving without appropriate card "
Stick it in a cash point and nothing will likely happen other than the cashpoint will keep it and the bank will have a nice photo of you !! Cashpoints read the magnetic strips on cards and probably dont write to them.
The card in the wrong slot isnt a problem so long as you have done a print and written the accidental reasons on the back. Let your gaffer know also as he will need to keep the print for you after the 28 days is up, as the gaff will also show on the events folder of the VU download for well over a year.
