Caravans

eagerbeaver:
Good to see how all the fibreglass towing tools have bolloxed up the road network for the last 48 hours. Hopefully the plastic box they crap into will self empty all over their sandals in the middle of the night, en route to the sewers and dogging spot where they all ■■■■■■■■ watching Doris getting nailed in the boot of a Volvo estate.

Ah, by your post I see that you actually ARE a caravanner then…

Pete.

Haha-i know too much Pete!!

I can see that even you are warming to the idea
Update on my planned caravan adventure,…Holly was getting too clingy with me, and Pixie would not share me, so I had to let them both go, so I won’t see you at Skeggy tomorrow after all
. Anybody want to buy a bucket?

robroy:
so I won’t see you at Skeggy tomorrow after all

Aww that’s such a shame and here was me looking forward to hearing all about the merits of the 13 speed Fuller box, I was sooooo much looking forward to that, it sounds riveting

Oh well on the upside, I won’t need to take my earplugs

Yes, because the only delays I had yesterday were caused by 2 trucks, 1 rolled over and 1 hit a bridge.

No caravan delays at all from Manchester to the NE, 6 drops and back to Manchester

Free Easter egg hunt (25’000 set out over green!!!) and numerous bouncy castles provided by local church all FREE for kids this morn.
Now sitting with cold beer in sunshine (true bill!!!) and about to throw the rib-eyes on the barbe.
“Livin’ the dream”!!!

Keep net filling up nicely.

To be fair who is going to caravan to Manchester?

To be fair who is going to caravan to Manchester?

Stranger things have happened, there are people on here who think ERFs were good trucks!

ggrrrr Bigtruck still neg temps here and a bloody sleet shower this morn… and Robroy what the hell were you doing to pixie■■? I put our puppy (*pixie) out for a walk and he wouldn’t go past a wagon parked up the street… :open_mouth:
signed… :unamused:  confused in Manitoba

Our caravan had to tow our car as this BMW wouldn’t get out our way

I was more interested in Pixie’s puppies than Pixie the puppy :bulb:

Fly off to somewhere hot, 5 star hotel, all inclusive, be waited on hand and foot, catch a few rays on the beach with a cold beer, back to the hotel for a jacuzzi, and a steak meal with more beer, into town for a bit of fun and entertainment, back to hotel luxury bedroom.
OR
Hitch up to a box, head down the M6 with all the traffic, more than likely rain. Park up on some site, make me own tea, sit in the box cos it’s still bloody raining, watch Eastenders on the 6" portable with a can of warm beer, head down clubhouse for bingo, back to caravan get in my sleeping bag and ■■■■ in a bucket all night…decisions decisions

Haven’t read most of this thread but Robroy’s contribution caught my eye.

You shed draggers can’t really argue with it.

Why do these crappervan loving clowns go on about ’ awnings ’ all the time. " Oooh Mavis, look at this-super stripey mk3 waterproof deluxe awning, with separate section for our flip flops, yesssss a ■■■■■■■■■■■■ I have ".

I own a 26 year old Buccaneer touring caravan. Has all the mod cons of shower, fridge, pumped hot water. Bought it so our two hounds could come on holiday with us, instead of forking out over £200 week for kennel fees alone.

Used to cost us £500 a week to rent a static and pay kennel fees, now it costs us around £130 week to have a week away - so a real non brainer.

You used to rent a static shed, but now you drag your own shed and you think you’ve won? :open_mouth:

Ditch the hounds mate. There’s more to life than having a holiday that suits your animals.

If facebook is anything to go by, if you paint a yellow spot on your gate post someone will come and nick them for you.

Don’t think the all inclusive package holiday sun seeking types will ever understand why some people can enjoy holidaying in a tin box with full facilities with the freedom to upsticks and go somewhere else if they don’t like things. There are many ways of caravanning as there are many ways of holidaying via flights, there is no one size fits all.

Personally I can think of nothing worse than boarding a flight at 6AM with a load of ■■■■■■■■ that have already been on the pop for a couple of hours, stuck on a plane for 3+ hours whist said ■■■■■■■■ get even more tanked up and then spending the next two weeks sharing my space with the same ■■■■■■■■■■■■ cruises!!!..well!!!

Whatever floats your boat!

In much the same way that many on this forum drone on about V8’s 560, 580 or whatever,9 speed fuller boxes,13 speed fuller boxes, twin splitters, spacebars and other such blingy crap…presumably because they are interested in such things.

Personally I cannot gender much enthusiasm for either, functionality is my master…does it do the job I want it to then the job’s a good 'un.

You miss the point altogether Contraflow.

Most folks go on holiday and have bugger all to show for it apart from a crud tan that fades after three days. Those with caravans get to bring their holiday accommodation back home with them and use it again and again. You don’t have to worry about who’s been in sleeping in the bed before either… :open_mouth:
