I stopped for fuel on the A34 just before the M40, and there was a car parked on the lorry pumps. not fuelling up, but just parked. Ok there are 3 pumps so not a problem as i was the only truck in there but what if we parked on the car pumps?
You’d probably remove the forecourt canopy
I drive a truck so therefore I own all roads and everyone else should stay at home

If im in the coach and there is a caravan parked up for no reason, I will block them, double park or just make it awkward for them to get out. There is plenty spaces for caravans, if not move on to the next services.
If I need to take a 45 then the police can move me.
If two of us are running back from a job and see an illiterate idiot parked in the coach bays we block them in. One each side so they can’t get in or out the doors. Lock up the bus and bugger off for 45.
Why only one MSA for the whole length of the M25,now a new one is being built, not many around the Manchester motorway area as well.

i think some do have that attitude.
but a bit of consideration from both sides wouldn’t hurt.
someone caravaners might need to stop off because the winging kids keep needing the bog, but why do some on here think it’s ok to block them in?
that’s like acting in a similar manner to a clamper.
maybe weigh up the situation, and try to see which ones appear to be preparing to set off might help.
park behind them stick it on rest with the magnet on, then move forward when they go. tacho will look right. everybodys happy.
I’m thinking about buying a caravan this year… Honest haha
The best thing is if they park on the left hand edge of the bay, I just pull in onto the right hand side of my bay alongside them about 4" from their caravan door , pull the curtains and stop for as long as I want, if they’re inside the caravan, well thats their problem.
Why should truck drivers have priority over everyone els when it comes to parking spaces and lay bys? should be first come first serverd
I usually find that parking in the bay next to them with a toxic tank on usually gets them away a bit sharpish, seems they don’t like the look of the skull and crossbones…
Dont mind caravaners untill they get the tables and chairs out and block anouther parking bay off and wont move for others then I haveno problem to park close to them it works both ways I try and be considerate I exspect the same back.
i guess some of the posts along the lines of “what I do is block them in” etc are just so much BS.
But if true, is there any wonder that truckers today are regarded as pond life by other road users?
Do these “pro” drivers use the same bullying attitude on the road?
I fail to understand why they would use the MSA for parking in, I quickly realised that I didnt want to park up and eat in a place that smells of ■■■■. Another plus, is that you don
t have contact with other drivers.
Yet again so called knights of the road and professional drivers have really shown their true colours. May be if some who post on here took of their blinkers they would see the signs directing caravans to park in the lorry park - westbound on the m25 at clackets you cannot miss the signs.
Your anger should be directed at the Msa operator who for some reason all this summer have decided on block to use lorry parks for caravanners. I noticed at one site the dedicated caravan bays are a temporary overflow for the coach park.
Those above stupid enough to sprout rubbish like why do they need to take a break are too thick to do the maths
One large vehicle i.e truck stops and driver spends may be £5.00
Car and caravan with family would spend £20.00
Coach with 50 punters probably spends £250
All 3 use the same space!!!do the maths …

Because truck drivers BY LAW have to have breaks from driving which they cannot exceed by even one minute. A caravanner and car driver has no such restriction.

so do you expect every car driver, caravaner to drive past empty lay byes just in case a trucker may come along who needs a break?
don’t coach drivers also have to stop now and then?

Yes I do. And yes I know. They would be allowed to stop in them too.

Really? All the ones at Charnock Richard yesterday and this morning just got into the back off the camper/caravan… Didn’t see them come out with anything from the building…

Get over yourself you self important muppet.
If you’re worried about finding a ■■■■■■■■■■■■ on your 4.5hrs driving or 6hrs ‘other work’, park up sooner.
Everyone on the road is entitled to a rest, motorway services were not built for trucks, they are built for motorists.
If they direct caravaners into the lorry park, that’s their choice since it’s private land.
As I said before, feel free to try blocking me in if / when I stop in 1 - I’m heading to carfest a week Friday, Manchester to Hampshire, with missus in the car and the caravan on the back, I WILL be taking a break during the journey - and see what reaction you get.
I think, with the attitude you have - ie You are a bully - you should really have your HGV licence took off you, personally I wouldn’t let you push a shopping trolley, you would probably ram a frail elderly person with it for getting in your way when you NEEDED sugar
