Best to apply and get pay details from whichever company as they all vary, some charge the insurance excess for goods in transit damage direct from wages however most have a bonus that you lose a percentage of when your responsible for a damage claim. Can be hard to earn top dollar for year or so depending on how you take to it. Expect the job tol be harder than you imagine.
Just remember that to earn £45k+ you will do £45k’s worth of work, you won’t earn that money sat on your arse in the cafe.
As poster above, its hard work, and mucky and wet and cold and hot and sweaty and you’ll wonder what the hell you were thinking getting involved, and every bone will ache, and you’ll get hurt regularly, if you can’t take the odd knock don’t even think about doing it.
Pay, apart from a couple of companies that pay hourly is too complicated to go into here.
As for damage, if you work for one of the better payers then you’ll be allowed the very odd mistake, but if you damage stuff regularly, you’ll be out on your ear.
Companies that put up with damage pay peanuts.
Takes about 5 years to really learn the job, and you never stop learning.
