car modifiers?

Not got much history on this computer,
This is the last proper project I threw anykind of decent money at, ended up breaking it mid rebuild because I couldnt be arsed with it, £20k cash in a B reg ■■■■■■, WTF :open_mouth:

Had plenty of toys over the years, Early 90’s Galant VR4 (worked for Mitsubishi at the time), Mk1 and 2 XR2’s, 3i’s, Nova Sport, GTE and GSI’s, then we started putting the 2litre redtop’s in the Nova’s, fun little cars, built some cracking sleepers too, RS Turbo powered Mk 4 ■■■■■■ Eclipse, Redtop powered Nova saloon.

im not putting any LEDs on apart from straight swap for the sidelights but im not sure how much work that will be. i tried with the V6 and they only worked on one side so the polarity would need to be changed. i havent tried with these headlights yet so they may or may not work
the next job will be bonnet pins to hold the corners of the bonnet down then sideskirts from the V6, integrate the rear fogs and get rid of the stick on one and de-badge. the only thing i want on the back is a small (3" or so) mitsubishi logo in that same shade of blue but right at the top under the shadow of the spoiler. im borrowing a set of alloys so i can get those ones refurbished in a dark colour, possibly a flip paint with trigger mauve as the base and light blue as the flip. they have to be dark to show off the brembos

then i can start looking for a bigger intercooler :smiling_imp:

sounds well sorted  just hope it goes as good as it looks — at least it’s not a 1.0L fiesta…

i have bought and dropped off a new slimmer number plate holder for colour coding. that blue one is a little bit too much blue on the front so its going and i want the mitsi badge blue instead

she runs well although the alternator belt tensioner needs replacing so the belt will be getting done too. the exhaust is blowing so im hoping to have that welded tomorrow although im not sure why a stainless steel exhaust has developed a hole. it should be warranted but as it would cost me about £80 in petrol to take the car back to turriff it isnt worth it

MY 93 eg civic is my second car which has turned into a long term project.

things done so far :
full respray
bc racing coilers
rear upper strut brace
front 3 point strut brace
completly stripped
carbon spoon wing
2 bucket seats.

plenty more to come

the intercooler is taking a back seat. i want an RS rear diff to compliment the front one. unfortunately, unlike the front, it is not a straight swap. it looks like i will have to have the RS internals fitted to my open diff. its that or just pick up an AYC diff from an EVO VIII which i have heard could conflict with the front diff. mechanical versus computerised diff which may not go the same way when they are doing their stuff. i have to admit though, that front diff is phenomenal. its like driving a go kart. the only thing that will separate me from that diff is death, either the diffs or my own

Well the drift season started back up at the weekend up here, next event hosts the first round of the UK Open Drift Championship which should be fun. Im in the slightly bruised blue car

I should be there doing the drift taxis in the Touring, its usually my mates who get asked to organise it. I think we had something like 12 cars + 2 backup cars at ingleston last year and went through 500+ passengers in like 6 hours. Its nice that its indoors now though no more flaming rain

If anyone has a smart looking truck and would like to attend Modified Live shows at Snetterton, Oulton Park and Brands Hatch, send me a PM

with an entry for a photo comp i wanted a nice backdrop and lighting so after spending friday afternoon and all day saturday on the car i went off to stirling castle but i couldnt get the sun in the right place or the car where i wanted it so i went for a sunrise at kirkcaldy beach on the sunday. completely overcast all day :frowning:
this was my entry anyway

Gembo:
I was a petrol head once but not anymore.
Couple of pics of one of my old beasties!
I started off with an Imported Impreza ‘Type RA’, basicly the lightened and stripped out version, very light and 280 bhp.
I then got the bug, sold that and got an Impreza ‘Type R’, the 2 door version of the my first one, low ratio box meant only about 140 top end but in the book it was 4.2 secs to 60.
I finished up with the GTR you see here, just a mere 400bhp stage one tune with intake and exhaust upgrade and boost turned up to 1 bar. It was by far the best driving experiance i ever had. Seeing as i had 180 mph out of it, (on my own private track obviously ) I sold it way back in 2006 after owning it for just 12 months before i ended up in a box. To be honest, it was abit of a “liability car” as my ole man put it, but [zb] me did it move!

Do i mis these motors??
No not really, i like the 50 mpg my old 03 plate Passat estate returns plus it dosn’t shake your fillings out

my old v6 wrx sti type r ltd - i think that was the full title!!

v6 in a surbaru? i though they only did boxer engine’s in them…

Sorry, I should’ve put version 6!! Yep 4 cylinder boxer

my ■■■■■■ cosworth, the car i’ve wanted to own since i first saw the rally version in CCC mag many years ago as a young lad, finally got this one in 2008 shortly after the birth of my second daughter

it wasnt the best example when i got it, so i replaced things like the front fogs etc to freshen it up in the first year, second year took it to grove garage in romford for a set up and chip after fitting a 3" stainless steel exhaust(decat from the turbo to the back) along with a hybrid t28 turbo. you could feel the difference just with those without the chip, it made 287.3bhp prior to chipping, its now somewhere around 305 - 310bhp. gearbox needs a rebuild after i fluffed a change from 3rd to 4th, it now spits 4th out 99% of the time which is annoying to say the least, still i have finally got my box of gearbox internals and shall be attempting the rebuild in the near future. in year 3 the battary tray rotted through so it was interior out and a mini resto was undertaken, new tray, side skirts off etc and any rusty metal was cut out and replaced…

and boat loads of waxoil in everywhere…

hi tech spray booth!

home made crankshaft pulley puller, changed all the belt and tensioners.

and in the test station…

.

future plans are to improve the handling, not going for anymore power, realistically you cant use more power on our roads, someone always gets in the way. need some 18’s really but that will only make the brakes look small!!

She looks lovely, does she have a name? I like the original look, no massive bumpers, stupid spoilers and bits of chrome stick on tat everywhere.

Dont change anything about the looks of that cossie, looks great. spend the money on handling etc

I should hopefully have my m3 touring by the end of the may

does she have a name, lol, yes varies though depending on what’s going on at the time, usually gets called numerous names when 4th spits itself out.
that drifting game looks like a lot of fun  when i get a minute i’m gonna sit and have a look through your youtube stuff, got as far as your mate killing your car, but i’ll get back on it asap. cant really get the arse out on the cossie with it being 4wd, it tends not to be that predictable, understeers first in the wet - when you least expect it to. i was tempted to convert it to rear wheel drive when i bust 4th but thats about a grand to do, box of bits cost me 95 quid

cant believe i never stuck this up lol. was from the last event we had, next one is on sunday and is part of the uk open drift championship

should be a good day
