I’ve recently had to inform my ins of various new things related to health , which has resulted in my yearly premium rising from apx £300 ( I thought that was a lot at 64 ) to £1,500 ( yes I did say £1,500 ) , had to change brokers I believe as one at time wouldn’t insure me , Ican’t presently drive so we’ve taken the car off the road
Has anyone had a ridiculously high hike in ins premiums when informing ins company of illnesses ?
I Get I have alot more illnesses than most but £1,500 to insure a 1.0 Lt at 64 , seems excessive, or am I wrong , thanks
Just to double check: It is the same car, at the same address, same named driver(s) and the only change is that you have informed them of medical conditions?
I know that travel insurance can vary a heck of a lot if you have medical conditions, but haven’t come across motor insurance varying that much.
I would say shop around. Use the big web sites, but also spend a few hours actually on the phone talking to different smaller providers.
Horrible and boring repeating the same details, but it might give a big reward. Good luck.
Edit…Have you had a significant birthday lately? Older is better only up to a point, then it gets worse.
Edit 2…What you can also do is go onto a comparison site and enter all details correctly. Then enter all the same details except leave out the medical conditions. This will confirm that it is only the medical conditions making the difference.
