Car drivers have found another way to save fuel

Harry Monk:
I don’t think I’ve seen that ROG, could you post a link to it in a new thread?

Err Harry…

Obviously the guy in the car did nothing wrong we all know thats impossible whena trucks involved.

So exactly what did the truck driver do wrong for this to happen?, was it a lack of POA? or did he forget to have abreak 6 months ago leaving him too tired to see the car on his bumper?.

It’s the same story as that bloke who drove 200 miles down the M1 about 10 years ago, pretending that his throttle was stuck open, he couldn’t get the gear lever into neutral and he was too scared to use the brake, he was three times over the sleep/drive limit.

I cant believe the amount of people on here saying it was fake or photo shopped :open_mouth:
The hard bit to beleive is how the driver didnt notice it, he probably did feel something at first but put it down to a strong gust of wind hitting the cab or something.
Some more of the same

Just seen this,i,ll throw my hat in the ring.I,ve done exactly the same thing, about 15k before the peage on the a1 heading to lille,in a rhd fh12,cruise on,stereo going full bore, trailer was empty when i started to smell burning so i stuck on the hazards and pulled onto the hard shoulder, jumped out and went to walk round the front of the truck and fell over the bonnet of a peugeot 205 with 4 very flat tyres and terrified old french bird gripped to the wheel,so i dont doubt this video for a minute but at the end of the day what the arclid driver did is no different to what you see nearly every day when a lhd wagon sideswipes somebody, one moments distraction and you,ve lost track of whats around you.And before the holier than thou brigade come on and start ranting about being a proffessional,it can happen to ANYBODY.Unfortunately the arclid driver will now endure the full force of the british “justice” system while i was only releived of a large wedge of french francs and told to be on my way

This exacy same clip has just been on ITV regional news :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation: They said that the Police did not realise the severity of the incident and have now reopened the file due to seeing the content of the video :exclamation: You can therefore bet your bottom dollar this driver is in deeper sheep dip and also may I thank them for the ample bad coverage we have received as an industry :unamused: We hardly need more bad press like this but thats how it has gone…

So why doesn’t the car catch when its tyres are down to nowt, and flip over and end up under the tractor?? While I can see pushing a car for a short distance unknowingly, carrying on as normal down the A1 with a car attached to your front is too far fetched for me.

Because the road was wet.

Hi all not sure how to set up links, but if u go on youtube and type in “truck pushes car” you’ll come across a acrilid tanker caught pushing car sideways down a1 its bloody scary if its real. It looks very real but i find it hard to belive u could push a car sideways at 56mph and be unaware even if its a 510 i think the power surge needed would be obvious or the noise. Your thoughts please

Arclid driver will be spending some time at her Majesty’s pleasure for sure.

why?
isn’t it obvious who’s fault it is?

it is quite clear to me, that the arclid driver pulled out at the junction to let the other vehicles onto the highway.
then, as usual, the car driver can’t stay in lane 1. they have to pull out for some reason. the back end of the car connects with the nearside of the truck. the rest is history.

try parking very close to a car in a layby, then see how much you don’t see.

Thankyou Limeyphil, at last someone who don’t think its the Truckers fault

phil all accidents involving a truck are always the truck drivers fault until proven otherwise, even if the car is piloted by a kamakazie pilot who deliberitly drive head on into you or into the side/back of the trailer.

we should know better to stay away from accidents even if we dont know they are going to happen, we are “mind readers and can see into the future” because we are professionals aparently. :unamused:
