Car drivers doing the jump on brakes trick

anyone else had this . going through roadworks on m1 yesterday sat in middle lane overtaking a heavy crane doing around 20mph up hill and car driver who had been sat in the middle lane for sevral miles for no apparnt reason doing 45mph decided to jump on breaks so with a coach sat right up my back side and i had 1meter projection of steel overhang on trailer classed it as unsafe to brake due to how close coach was behind me and opted to jump across to 3rd lane to avoid and risks of accidents then car driver proceedes to try jump in front of me trying to take pictures on her phone .

i shall be waiting in hope that she has gone to the police with the evidence and they can clearly see what her game was as i have front faceibg camra

personaly i belive i did correct thing to avoid any accidents but how does the law see it . clearly can be seen that i was correct disance and not tailgating was just typical arrogant car diver

It’s like when they get ■■■■■■ off with you for holding them up for all of 30 seconds when overtaking, so they “get you back” by cutting in front of you and braking, not realising that they come very close to causing their own death by doing so  .
I had one that tried to “teach me a lesson” :unamused: one day, and ended up swerving in to harshly and ended up losing it and going down the A1 like a snake on crack, his next stop must have been to buy a new pair of undercrackers

Had it yesterday coming upto the Newark turn off on A1 N at 1800 ish
It’s crawling because of everyone wanting the A46 etc and there’s a car full of split arses it was a new vauxhall insignia estate so daddy must have bought that. Snaking and cutting across both lanes trying to get up the traffic, I stopped in lane 1 and she managed to cut me up 3 times!! Well in end I’d had enough of her pishing about so when I got my chance I cut across her  she had two chances either stop or my trailer wheels were going over top of her shiny new car!! Cue long blast of horn… When it cleared and we were moving again she pulled up at side of me and split arse passenger gave me dead eye so I blew her a kiss haha

Was certain they’d ring the boss but they didn’t so win :grimacing:

This is what might happen as the result of someone who tries the old “lets slam the brakes on to annoy the traffic behind me” trick

It served the driver of the Peugeot right

We’re you too close to her? It’s easy for a car driver to feel intimidated by a truck - especially with a large vehicle to her left and already narrow lanes.
That said it’s just stupid to brake check a truck.
I had a superdrug superstar right up my arse when I was in my car. I was doing the limit and he was 3 feet from my bumper. I wound the window down and motioned for him to back off a couple of times. He didn’t. As soon as it got to a single lane section I came to a gentle stop, got out and told him to ■■■■ off, took the keys from the ignition and threw them on the ground, giving me enough time to carry on while he goes to retrieve them. No point grassing to the company, getting violent or getting in a crash. Just my way of dealing with it.

This was posted on here a while ago. Fine example of brake checking stupidity…

let’s not mix up the brakecheck where the idiot in the cayenne cuts up the lorry and brakes because the lorry moved into HIS lane, although signalling properly and all, with a brakecheck due to tailgating. I do the latter all the time, never can you find me in the fast lane holding anybody up but if I’m being tailgated then after a couple of hints I will make good use of my brakes, better off having the insurance pay for the respray of my tailgate as it’s getting a bit rusty

This is why ill be getting a dashcam when I pass my HGV, either that or one of those new snooper satnavs with the built in cam, some selfish idiot out to make a couple of grand could end up costing someone their job and everything, not to mention the time and money to the taxpayer when the emergency services have to deal with the aftermath plus causing delay and misery to 1000s of other motorists. Ive been involved in 3 non fault accidents in the last 4 years and i only claimed once as it was a nasty one. Ive had two women run into the back of me at slow speed where i could have easily claimed but didnt. :unamused:

I’m no goody two shoes on the road. But it is this attitude that is what’s wrong with Britain today. There is very little on the road that is worth getting worked up about. If you feel you are being tailgated then pull away or over and drop back.

The actions described in your post are at best, childish, and at worst, flat out moronic.

What a lot of people don’t understand is causing accidents where they could have been avoided in their own area/near where they live will only put their insurance up aswell

I just go lane 3 now, ■■■■■ em, bunch of cretins.

When someone tailgates me constantly on my car I slow down for a couple of miles to let him overtake me. If no luck then flash my brake lights couple of times. You get flashed, horned and gestured but it does the job. There’s nothing new. Tailgating is against the Highway code!
Have dashcam in my car and bought for tractor as well.
Only 22quid +memory card around 10-15quid.

Now I am not going to risk by jumping on the brakes and sheding my load because of some prat. Few days ago one pulls out of the junction on my left then after 20 yards slams on brakes to go right! Managed to stop because was still on the brakes from his
first maneuvre!
No luck to proove his fault with out witness. So I am happy now!
Should I buy another two to point them on mirrors?

P.s I am not the seller!

This reminds me of a wagon tailgating me on the M6 many moons ago, I was in my off road 4x4 after a days playing and on the 50mph speed limit on the inside lane through the road works and this knob was less than two feet from my bumper.
I turned on my CB and by chance I said “Who has the mucky 4x4 in front of them” well blow me down the guy answered laughing say “Me and he is right wound up” at that point I I let rip and in no uncertain terms told him I was the 4x4 driver and I was going to stop right in front of him and cause him some discomfort (well I was not that polite to be honest   )
I have never seen a gap appear between two vehicles so quick and to top it off another guy came on the CB (ch 19) and started ripping the wagon driver to pieces laughing his nuts off, job done

No problem for the Fowler Welch that came past me last week in the outside lane of the M6 near Nuneaton. He was far too slow to tail gate anyone :unamused:

A friend of mine bought that exact same Cam and I to was looking at one, that was until the lever bit that sticks it onto the windscreen snapped off and he only had it 4 days

If an accident had occured I feel you would have been arrested (obviously) and then charged with dangerous driving.

Based on what you have stated which lets face it is a dumbed down version from your perspective, you should hold your head in shame.
I have no doubt you used your vehicle to intimidate another road user and where giving it the big-un (quite literally). Your type of load would lend itself to be driven with care and in a professional manner and you should pay more attention to whats happening in front rather than worry about the coach behind who was no doubt well aware of your shenanigans and was well equipped (as a better driver) to deal with anything you got mixed up in.

That said my high horse is a little shetland pony today as I had one of those situations when you want to change lanes and theres one solitary car a long way back not overtaking anything just lane hogging. No problem I thought as I will give plenty of warning and he / she is sure to let me in. Oh no they didn’t, instead they choose to speed up, unfortuantely not quite fast enough as I eased over and put some manners on the ■■■■

I did of course wave my hand in apology / thanks as this tends to diffuse the situation quite well I find.

Dipper Dave that makes me smile as about the only thing guaranteed to upset me nowadays is where you get a car bimbling along in lane two not gaining on you UNTIL you put your indicator on to overtake when suddenly the driver floors it! :imp:

The way I figure it is that my indication means that I am coming out, I’m not seeking their permission to pull out, and all their speeding up will ever achieve is that the impact will be greater when they rear end me!

FFS!!! Don’t care a toss if he was tail gating, that isn’t how to react to it, I certainly hope the Peugeot driver lost their licence for that, a life time ban on driving. Hope nobody was seriously injured :open_mouth:

Every star of that clip is a ■■■■■■. The moron at the front is worst but the dash cam guy was way too close and those that piled into the back are no better. Too many people on the road who don’t understand that 70mph traffic can become 10mph in a matter of seconds.

Yeah i’ve had the same. Only difference between you and me was, i knew i was going into lane three to pass them and i knew i shouldn’t.
Just keep your story straight that due to cars in front and a coach behind you were forced into lane three. Someone will believe you eventually.
