Earlier today i was waiting at the lights on a roundabout when i looked across and saw a car driver staring across at me. I turned away happily eating on my banana when i had a sixth sense that he was still looking. So as i looked across i saw him with his phone taking pictures of me or my truck with phone number on the side. I honestly have no clue what his problem was so i mouthed “whats up?” and he called me a Knob. So as i was opening my door to go ask what his problem was, the lights changed and off he went. What is the obsession with general public trying to get truckers into trouble?. I wasn’t on my phone and had not driven in any manner for him to act like he did.
Would have been funny had i been an owner driver and he phoned the number on side of unit ranting and raving only to get through to me
Unfortunately these days we have to tread carefully it’s a shame to be honest
Your boss is probably going to get a call saying you were eating a banana whilst in charge of a truck and if he doesn’t publicly flog you in the town centre, the photo will be sent to the media.
Quite right too just think of the Nun carrying Kittens that might have been harmed by your reckless actions.
Were you eating the banana provocatively?
Perhaps he became aroused and took pics for later

Quite so. Gotta watch our step.
Don`t want to slip up on…
sorry

I wonder if that’s what he meant when he said “knob”
The problem is some drivers do things whilst driving that are not always correct which can upset other drivers. Not saying this is what you did but it is a possibility.
Some drivers become complacent and do things day in day out and in their own mind they are doing it correctly but in reality it’s wrong. Just look at how many drivers don’t know half the rules of the HC etc.
Anyway I would not worry about it as you will probably not hear anymore but something obviously upset him.
It’s a sad state of affairs.
I work for the co-op and they send me down some stupid roads and I’ve had a few occassions in which some ‘concerned citizen’ started snapping away. Usually get a few remarks as well about how I can’t read signs and how this is a NO-HGV Village. The annoying thing is you often see them a few minutes later enter the CO-OP…
HERE IS A TIP IF YOU DON’T WANT HGVS IN YOUR VILLAGE DONT SHOP IN YOUR LOCAL STORE! It will soon go out of business and you can just drive 10 miles to your nearest store.
Also what is the point of these blue ‘unsuitable for HGV’ signs… They just get ignored and then mean nothing because you often have to go through them. All they seem to be is another stick that can be used to beat you with if you happen to get in an accident.

You should have rang the Old Bill.and reported him for using his phone while in charge of a car.
Self appointed (banana ) Police, I ■■■■ hate em.
That was going to be my question. If taking a pic from a driver seat that will be very clear if they send it in, thus hopefully your boss or the police would be pointing this out.
You would hope the latter would then issue an NIP to the driver for using a handheld device while in charge of a motor vehicle.
Wouldn’t worry too much, they wouldn’t have gotten your reg anyway.

They provide a very good indication that the route isn’t really suitable for HGVs, and it might be a good idea to check that you really need to go that way…?

They provide a very good indication that I’m heading in the right direction.
Honestly, the CO-OP are special they will convert some old church in the middle of nowhere to a supermarket and think nothing of sending a 35/44ft trailer to it.

Same with farms and forests, it makes you wonder why they have them in the middle of the countryside when they need to have nasty big trucks to collect goods from them.

I’m gutted the lights changed before i could get out and ask what was the matter. I wonder if he would call me knob when at his window. If i had done something to cause his annoyance then fair play but there was nothing at all for him to do what he did.
On a plus note it happened in my area where i live and work and i noted it was a black lexus suv and i won’t forget his face. Hope i see him again
I once had a Volvo on hire ,I parked it somewhere on weardale and went in a cafe when I returned a shop keeper gave a load of earache so after he insisted I gave my m8s number thinking we’d have a good wind up
,then somehow he gets hold of my Mrs who dropped us both in it and was not pleased with me

If he was driving a BMW or Audi, you should have called him a c**k!

Be careful mate, is it worth it? Reading news today. 8 people killed this year by a single punch. You just never know who or what could confront you.
