If you watch the video seems the ambulance overtakes him and cuts in!
He doesn’t look the full quid, is he a fit and proper person to hold a licence?

He’ll get ‘checked’ if the sons of the guy that was in the ambulance catch up with the prick.

But is it not fair to say that most drivers would have been doing what they could to allow the ambulance to overtake easily and safely? Pulling in and slowing down or even stopping, so even if the ambulance had cut in a bit sharp, it’s still an serious indictment on the knobber in the car.
The “blue light” training these guys do is pretty full-on, I’m confident they know what they’re doing, and I’m betting there’s at least one person on TN who has experience of that?

There seems to be an issue of them now being told to minimise use of audible warnings which can be lethal for all concerned at blind junctions. They generally approach them on just blue lights then use the noise too little and too late if at all.
It’s only ambulances doing it not fire or the law.
Absolutely nothing can excuse what this miscreant did he clearly has serious mental issues leaving the question of what he’ll do next.

He deserves to be in prison with dangerous criminals. How the hell does one get jail for 2 cards and one goes free. I would have wanted to be in that courtroom.Hmmm not sure about that, he did get a heavy fine, and a ban, it wasn’t a crime he committed it was an offence… if difference.
Dangerous driving is a criminal offence subject to custodial penalty.
Obviously in this case he was acting irrationally so the law should have treated it as such medically unfit to hold a licence and a danger to the public requiring mental health intervention.

You never know maybe something has already happened to him. He never even argued or said a word.

Live in hope.
Should be put on a 999 blacklist.
Any calls going to the 999 control center resquesting emergency assitance for him should be declined.
Just like people refusing covid vacines should have been declined treatment when they contracted covid.

Yes and everyone who took a covid vaccine should be refused any healthcare for the myocarditis that they develop! As well as the covid that they get anyway!

Aye,.I found that bit amusing as well.

Same old same old…
“Research published in April 2022 shows that there is no greater risk of developing heart inflammation after a Covid-19 vaccine than after other common vaccines, including the flu jab.”

There was an issue with the ambulance service grading every call as a red call ( I think that’s how they term it) in order to meet targets and not because of the severity of the call. I seem to remember that it led to loads of complaints especially if you lived close to an A/E department. I’ve also noticed that you don’t see ambulances tearing around on full blues and twos. Memory is a bit grey now so I could have dreamt it.

I have done blue light training albeit quite a few years ago now however I would be very surprised if what Carryfast says is true. In fact I would say it’s a load of complete tripe. I seem to remember there were quite a few odd comments from various members on another thread on this subject.

I had a sneaking suspicion that you might have done… Let’s hope you knew the difference in styles of driving between a lorry, a coach and a blue light style of driviing

It’s happening and it’s happening more often than not.
Why would I have stated a noticeable difference between ambulances v fire and police in that regard. You’ve said yourself your experience isn’t recent. As I said it’s a recent issue.

You may well be correct CF. They do tend to change rules and not always for the better these days. One rule they have changed for the better is they can now prosecute drivers who over react to emergency vehicles and cause chaos and believe me they are in abundance.

That must depend on where you live, I’m within a mile or so of a major hospital and regularly see ambulances, mostly with “blues”, though often with “twos”, really motoring, including carefully going through red lights.
