The ebs trailer warning light and buzzer occasionally goes off on our Daf 95 05 plate so took it into to have the trailer plugged in and the bloke said its the unit putting too much air into the trailer he said the trailer control valve sometimes is letting 9.4 bar instead of 9 so is there any way of controlling the air feed to the trailer
So, it sounds like, he plugged into an EBS trailer that’s having this problem and it’s only when pulling this trailer?
You can adjust trailer control valves but that may be a symptom and not the cause. Worth getting some physical measurements with a gauge off test points as what the ECU says the pressure is may not be reality
if only happening with 1 trailer ,which says there is a problem with the trailer, the EBS system on the XF has no mechanical adjustments, all valves are electronically controlled…the predominace etc is factory set ,it the vehicle is at all at fault,it would be the trailer control valve having an issue ,but like you say it is only one trailer
years ago it was called a predominance valve,it put a half bar lead to the trailer to keep it straight…it was adjustable with a long screwdriver if i remember correctly. dont know about new equipment though…
hope this helps.
Supply should run the same as the tractor,Signal dont really matter as the control module on the trailer supplies air to the chambers in relation to the pressure supplied to the bags to keep the correct running height
More wieght, higher bag pressure, more air supplied to the chambers.
If EBS is giving an incorrect signal do away with the brown/white and green/ white data link at the plug on the trailer.Run the trailer without EBS,the ABS is still in full operation and the tractor will not find a data link to flag up a fault.
