Personally I don’t give a monkeys chuff what other drivers do (or not). Half the world’s starving, a quarter of the world is at war and yet the most important thing in life is somebody else’s tachograph use?

Im not a great beliver in squealing even though ive done a bit myself, especially when ive forgotten the ‘safe word’, for our younger viewers when choosing a safe word with your partner I have found the ones best not picked are: Stop, No, Help and Theres no way thats going to fit in there…
Anyway I would suggest you have a word in his shell like and if theres a few of you take him to one side for a quite discussion out of earshot of management types who will make a meal of it.

Here we go with the over-dramatisation, he went two hours over his time so he must have been falling asleep and a danger to everyone on the road .
I’m not condoning what the driver did and I wasn’t there so have no way of knowing what condition the driver was in, but the likelihood is that what he did was stupid more than dangerous, stupid because there’s no way he could not get caught.

Hang on a sec, you started this thread then chose to support the argument for squealing, I.e. think of the children, nuns, kittens, who maybe put at risk if these actions are allowed to continue.
Now your saying your not going to grass thus putting your virtual position out of kilter with your real life one. Seriously have the courage of your convictions or you will end up the worse kind of squealer, a squealer by proxy who is unable to squeal themselves but will make sure some one else squeals for them.
Hang on a sec, you started this thread then chose to support the argument for squealing
please show where i supported squealing

Apologies, my bad.
So you dont support squealing then you just want him caught.
Is there anything you can do to help nudge the catching process along a bit.

a driver on knowing he was going to be late finishing and this would jeopardise his overtime on saturday took trailer on last run of night and had to go ALL way round m25 because of tunnel closure and it was doubledecker from dartford drop. driver was off for 9 hrs 0055 to 0955 then started fresh shift , BUT did not finish shift till gone 3 am RAN 2HRS without card on above route !! driver now on hols until 27th and did not download card before his hos .we are on isotrak who will and when will this be spotted IF AT ALL ,OR has he got away with it ■■?
The tacho head will have displayed “Driving no card”. It will have recorded the fact it was driven without a card and doing a printout would show it up. It would also show up when the tacho head was downloaded for analysis as well and given how long the tacho head can hold data for, there is a high chance of being caught out even if he sets fire to his digicard. Whether or not VOSA get a whiff of it is a different story but his employer certainly would be finding out from the analysis.
No need to grass as the tacho analysis will do all the grassing up needed. I would take seeing him have not getting anything happen other than an infringement sheet to sign as the company condoning it but that’s a personal opinion.
If you did this at my place of work… You’d be sacked immediately. No excuses.
I think he should be publicly flogged. What if he killed a cyclist?
In all seriousness though I think he be publicly flogged.
I once went 3 minutes over my time and decided to join opus dei and practise self flagellation. I didn’t want to hinder the public with the flogging on the high street.

my thoughts exactly ,he is back monday week we will see in a few weeks time
Can somebody please think of the children!!
If he’s a brown noser then it maybe swept under the carpet but if he does it often enough even then it can’t be ignored. The longer it goes on, the worse it will be for both driver and company is the Vostoppo come knocking.

Thing is though, is it any different to hauliers that have drivers on highly sleep disruptive duty patterns. 3am one morning, 7am next morning, 3am, 1am etc., to say nothing of the hauliers that ask agencies for a driver at 3am in the morning because someone hasn’t turned in, with no thought to the fact that driver might have only had three hours sleep? How many hauliers tell a driver to go home and rest if they turn up for work riddled with flu and obviously not fit to drive?
I was on the M6 in torrential rain yesterday, massively reduced visibility, spray everywhere and you still had the so called professional drivers hammering along on the limiter into situations that couldn’t see, riding a few feet from the vehicle in front. Those are the ones that put people at risk, not someone who has pulled their tacho.
The fiend!
Malky80:
Grass him up.
So that’s your first option mate is it? seriously? ffs.
I hope I never have to work with you then,… but I don’t know you personally so I won’t make a judgement.
So speaking generally…
I’ve never been a grass myself, and I ■■■■■■ hate them, lower than a snake’s todger I reckon.
The way I weigh up these situations is I ask myself if it will affect me, if the answer is no then it’s none of my ■■■■■■ business, end of.
However if it did in such as this case it may be so, I wouldn’t go for the sneaky spineless option, I would opt for the man’s way …confront him along the lines of ‘look mate you are ■■■■■■■ things up for the rest of us, we aint happy, so if you continue I will take it further’’
If he continued and IF Ifelt it necessary, tell who ever could put a stop to it,…then tell the bloke in question what I had done.
Then I’d go for a ■■■■ safe in the knowledge that I was entitled to stand up to do it rather than sit down for it.
I was grassed up once by a right fanny, but when I confronted him around the back of a trailer he denied it and done everyting except ■■■■ himself, when he did eventually admit it he was just about in tears,…a classic spineless grass.
all this about will he get away with it depends on the company, they may not give a txxs about the rules and regs or vosa until they get caught then the blame game starts, usually starting with the driver.
Can’t anyone see how this guy has robbed himself?
"Hehe I’ve worked 18 hours and I only get paid for 15 max… I’ve got clean away with throwing away that 3 hours of pay for nowt!"
That overtime he was desperate to keep must have been some of that hallowed £24ph stuff I hear about, but never seem to see anywhere - like Unicorn dung really… The only half you see is the unpleasant half.
