Can someone refresh my memory please (Actros)

I have an upcoming driving assessment and have not turned a wheel for 2.5 years. I suspect that it will be in a automatic Actros 60 plate onwards. Basically how to check oil etc and operation of gear select. I remember the little T shaped gear lever that’s about it.

Thanks.

Oil is on the dashboard menu, score some brownie points by asking the assessor how to check it. As for the box, left button is neutral, hold right button as push forward for drive, or hold paddle back for reverse. You will feel the box try to pull your seat through the floor when it engages :open_mouth: Smaller paddle underneath is the single gear shift, main paddle does blocks, toggle switch on the back changes from auto to manual

What model is it?.Mp3 & mp4 have a different layout…

Thanks, not sure on model but Tesco spec.

That’ll be an axor not an actros. Could have an 8 speed knock through in it

That would be why Tossco travel so slowly they can’t find high range!

Sure they also have actros too now…In wich case to the op…If it’s the new shape or mp4…The gear selector is on the right hand stalk along with the exhaust brake…

I it is not familiar then ask the person doing the assessment. Last assessment I did, I was asked if I know the gearbox, cos he didn’t

Sorry my mistake, it will likely be an Axor, pretty sure all the manuals have gone by now. I used to like the knock over 8 speeds.
