Can i work in Netherlands with UK CE licence hiab and ADR

Hello i have adr hiabs and CE licence.
Anyone knows if i can use it permanently in Netherlands or exchange is essential.
Thanks for any info chaps.

CE license is valid in the Netherlands, but if you live permanently in the Netherlands (e.g. Longer than 6 month) you need to exchange it for a Dutch license after 6 month.

ADR is valid in the Netherlands for the durance of validity of your ADR certificate, after that you need to renew it in the Netherlands.

HIAB certificate doesn’t mean anything to the Dutch, it’s not a legal document, and even in the U.K. It has no legal status.
It’s something insurances and employers want to cover their backside.

If you want to work in the Netherlands you need a “SOFI” (social fiscal number) you need this number for everything, your kids and wife need a separate one.
You cannot work or go to school without one, the Dutch get it by birth and is even in their passport.

Mind that health care is private insurance, you need a permission to live somewhere from the council.
Tax is in The Netherlands sky high, before tax doesn’t mean much is overtime carries 65% tax.
Also maximum is 48 hrs per week, above that many companies will give you time in lieu.

Thanks a lot mate this is smashing info
That means i can go there and work legally.
Was worried there’s some differences in law that would be necessary to complete ex additional courses like cpc or something.
Thanks a lot mate

You didn’t ask about DPC but your existing DQC is valid throughout the EU until it expires, when it will have to be renewed, usually in the country of residence.

Overtime carries 65% tax? :open_mouth:
Is this regardless of how low your basic rate is?

Yes it does makes a different what your basic rate is.
If you are up to € 19.200 you pay 33% tax, in that case you are close to the next level, so overtime can push you in the next level and pay 52% tax over your overtime.

I have to hold my hand up as there has been a couple of changes in de Dutch tax laws ( reduction) so it could be slightly different now.

Your health insurance is not income related as it is private.

Are your questions real?
If you(as I believe you are) are a British citizen, you have the legal right to work in any EU country, your UK licence, UK DCPC, UK ADR and UK Tacho card are valid in the whole EU.
If you plan to live there permanently follow Caledonian advice!

Im from EU but came here 12 years ago and done my class 2 then hiabs then artics and ADR.
Moving out to Netherlands for personal reasons.will see if they like my qualifications there.
And whats the wages like…got 4 years class 2 with hiabs plus tramping on artics and recently done adr.maybe will find company who does go to UK cos it is possible.thanks for info chaps all the best
