Hi, Paul here, total newbie :~(
Just about to start my week of lessons and test for Rigid.
Was just wondering, regarding the daily driving time of 9 hours increased to 10 hours twice per week. So can an employer schedule this in? is the extra hour meant to be voluntary at the drivers discretion, Or can your employer Force you to drive 10 hours twice a week? Hope that makes sense. Not that it bothers me really, would just be interested to know
Cheers,
PAUL.

Welcome to Trucknet-UK
There’s nothing to stop an employer scheduling a run of over 9 hours or even a 10 hour drive.
Though it would be a bit daft to schedule a 10 hour drive on anything other than a long run that’s going to take more than a single shift anyway.
While I would never profess to have more to offer regarding this type of question than Tachograph there is one point regarding the 2x10 hour days.
If you extend the driving time over 9 hours even by a few minutes you have used 1 of the possible 2 extensions. 10 hours is just the maximum.
The same principle applies to the 3 x 11 hour daily rest reductions
