When transport offices used to keep used tachos on pegs on the wall or back of the door?
I had a filing drawer with 13 pockets. Every month one went in the bin.

my uncle had a coat like that or was that the game keeper
And there was also a special magnifying glass type thingy that the tacho would fit into so it could be inspected.
Anyone else remember how prone to catching fire they were too?
Its like that in my work, why were they called “frisbees” personally I have no idea.
I tip at a co about 3 times a week and when I go to make a brew on the way out past the office there are all the drivers tachos on pegs hanging on the wall. Cheers Darren

and all the elastic bands to keep them SECURE!
We do too
I used to hear of sheds catching fire that stored tacho charts.Somebody got a tip off that the man from the “Ministry” was on the way for a surprise visit.
I used to like the log book days, silent checks by the ministry man clocking your reg, but back then then the fine for failing to make an entry was £25, but getting caught by falsifying a log book entry by being clocked was one hell of a lot more! Hence I kept loosing my pen
I was a kid at the time but I remember when Yiddle Davis was done. A ministry man clocked a plate in Wallsall (I think) and another one clocked the same plate somewhere around London about half an hour later or earlier. I know some of their motors were goers, but christ !. The ess aitch 1 tee hit the fan of course but I don’t know what the outcome was.

Dead right when I new I was going to be well over (which was normally every day). You were better with nothing in the book.
Eddie.
Like when i got pulled years ago so ministry man wanted to know where the rest of my tachos were, so i told him some were on the M4 some the M2 the rest on the M1 so he said what are they doing there
i told him thats where i file them and he then told me that i could get fined for not keeping records so i said not as much if you had seen them…he told me to get on my way…ha ha

Don’t need to actually set light to them it’s enough if the new girl in the office leaves a box of them on top of the heater and they all go black.
We still have them as some of our motors are analogue
