Didn,t siddle cook go from red motors on heavy haulage to beige motors on general haulage many yrs ago then reverse the name to elddis.

I think you will find it is actually the Cook family,Siddle Cook if i remeber was the grandad of the now boss
Siddle Cook sold out yrs ago mid 60`s I think I think it ended up as some consortium named Tyne Tees or something like that a bit like BRS Then fired up again about 1969 as Elddis although doing a different type of traffic than he used to with the heavy Haulage.Things changing again just got a few flats & doing 60ft Airoplane bits.

well there was willie known as ginge, there was willie wombat he went to harry fearons they had a few tanks they became what is now john irving,
they were green with white roofs, they ran all sorts of makes but settled on f86s
in 70s then went on to dafs fiats mercs, before harry retired,
there was pattinsons tankers as well they were green just down the road at bothel, and o,niels at aspatria they were green and white also, but all had a different layout,
while ginge went to the the west ■■■■■■■■■■ by products, known locally as (best ■■■■■■■■ accent) t,chamical wuks, they had some rigid tankers and took over from harold wood at marchon then they got a erf and a good few atkis they were the first to have the uprated ■■■■■■■ 180, they had a 205 in with usual db gearbox eaton axle, they were a dark khaki type green then went a mad tangerine colour,when johnstons started up again ginge went back till they closed in the late 80s, boy do i fill my head with some drivel, but i luv it 
Used to backload out of same places SE&SW & park same places and socialize in them days. Willie wombat could be the man I seem to remember something about shunting in the Board Mill for Robsons but that could be somebody else.Also remember a guy named Eddy worked for Watts used to see him around Bristol a lot Western Freights & anywhere else there was a nightclub. hi greek, “warren” as he gets called works for john irving of mealsgate aspatria, they do a bit of container work to trafford park and is it deansgate just off the m8 the container terminal, i,ve been but i can remember the name, and jobby is a odd job man at stobarts he took that job when the old boy retired,cos he got the dreaded diabetes shortly after,
the old boy used to do a lot out of bristol used to back load off gwynne bowan and entress both swansea and starr roadways of bristol, i went on that run with him a few times he used to run down to wells with cheese from aspatria dairy, sometimes the backload was harveys for anywhere, but bowens used to give him alloy for workington, high duty alloys the in house transport was done by daltons they origionated from about luton and ran commers with 38ft or 40ft single axle trailers, what a waste of a memory.

Brady.Was that the Brady from Barrow-in-Furness?
Red/White/Blue, usually quite tidy. If it’s them, they used to be near Bowaters on the road into Barrow-in-Furness.
I haven’t seen them for a while, and TBH I’m not sure whether they’re still going.
Brady failed several years ago - I’ve a vague recollection that there was an issue with losing a major job to Stobart, but I can’t remember all the details now. I believe that Brady’s set up again, but I think that it didn’t last. I stand to be corrected on the details
Brady still has a very substantial warehousing business

Pattinsons Tankers were bought out by H & M E Fearon. Scania 111 made up the bulk of H & M E Fearon fleet they only had three Fiats, one mercedes 1626 & one DAF 2800 (Reg No MAO 820W)
