Thinking of going to Truckfest.never been to one before.I 've managed to get my missus in principle to agree to possibly going camping there…(she is normally as adventurous as a caged Hampster)
weather permitting and probably for one night.Would’nt mind a few beers and a laugh with like-minded people. if there are any like minded people going.
Has anyone been camping there before? are the amenities usually pretty good (kids coming too)evening entertainment?and which would you think to be the best night?Saturday or Sunday?
We always used to camp, but be warned it’s always been very cold and not un heard of to rain. Too early to camp really. We now drag a caravan behind Mr.Vain. Don’t be put off thou. Even before we started taking the lorry we always used to go for the whole weekend. Saturday night theres the opening ceremony with a truck parade and fireworks display. Nice to see everything lit up and making plenty of noise. Sunday night you have the option of listening to the live bands or if its a nice evening have wander around the trucks and see them lit up or of course theres the fun fair. To be honest the weather can make or break the weekend. If you camp for the weekend you have tickets for all 3 days. Toilets are ok and so are showers but they do deteriate as the weekend go’s on (unless they pull they’re fingers out this year) early morning showers is best bet. 1 other thing, avoid camping at the bottom of a slope! If i can help with any thing else just ask

I do hope you keep the curtains on that caravan neatly stowed away when in motion Mr V
I dont know if i will be able to have a look up there this year.
Ive taken a truck there 5 times, and the first night is the best night as far as im concerned, not so many punters around and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed. Really wish i was taking a truck up there now. hope the weather holds out for everyone who goes.

without doubt there seems to be a lot better atmosphere after that its downhill
ive found the cheapest way to spend a weekend at a truckshow is take a truck the entry for a truck is always cheaper than paying to camp for the weekend

Before you agree to camp there just check that you move off after only one night as I was looking into camping there and understood you had to be there from Sat (AM) to Mon(PM).

I was offered a truck to take from one of our subbies as it was looking like one of his was about to drop out.
problem for me is that the trucks in Leicester would have to go for the whole
three days then get back to Leicester on the monday and then home and back to work on the Tuesday.(im about 3 hours from leicester)
Seems like a bit tooo much effort if you ask me.Might just go for the day then,or go travelodge or something
I usually leave things to the last minute anyhow, hence my missus calls me lastminute.com.
