A SCHEME to install cameras which track car number plates in a bid to ease Edinburgh’s traffic jams is nearing completion.
Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras - which are used in London to collect the congestion charge -

wonder if that is them gonna bring in a congestion charge in Auld Reekie… through the back door … year or so down the line …they will then say that they have the technology in place so wont cost as much to implement…

When the good burghers of Edinburgh voted incorrectly the council leaders brought in the blue meanies and made every parking space in the city chargable.

I was delivering in Princess street last week and when driving down Thistle street counted 8 parking attendants waiting to pounce.
