Camera's can help

the nerve of some scum.

I’ve seen that video before but I’m not sure if it was posted on this board or not, there’s few videos like that on Youtube, the brazenness of some of them really makes you wonder about the state of society.

I realise that the woman was a bit shocked at what happened but she shouldn’t have told them about her camera until the police were involved, she missed an opportunity to get them prosecuted.

I’m not criticising her, just pointing out that if that happens it’s probably best to let them think they’re onto a winner, at least until the handcuffs go on

You know… I’ve seen it too… recently… except there was an asian guy in one of those long gowns as the ‘witness’, instead of the white guy with the mobile. Something fishy going on there. Clickbait perhaps ? Hmmmmm.

If your involved in an incident, never mention you have a camera, to anybody, unless you are asked by the police, its your ace card, let them rant and rave, swap details then leave, wait for the insurance company then produce footage.

Our cameras are live feed real time, to the office, so they have to contact them, no memory cards.

She was lucky that they didn’t steal the dashcam.

totally agree with never reveal you have a camera, if the other party don’t know they will probably exaggerate or just make nonsense up, and if they do you can discredit all of what they have to say, even the stuff not on camera. Keep your trump card close to your chest.

Your live feed camera ? what happens when you have no reception ? and do they really upload everything, that would be for HD quality a gigabyte every 7 or 8 minutes (85 gig on a 10 hour shift ■■?)

And the vid on the OP - looks like poor acting to me, it also appears to be hosted by a you tube channel specialising in making money out of viral videos.

We have the smart witness cameras, I think they have sim cards in, not 100% I know when in the office, you pick what ever truck you wish to view, click on the reg no, and hay presto there’s the view, complete with speed time etc, don’t know how the data is stored or how long for.

The best ones have got to be those that transmit the telemetry over wireless internet, so even if the buggers smash the dashcam to bits and nick any chips they can find in them - it’s all too late. All the attack gets recorded, and sent to some remote location server. I would imagine that these very type are the ones the courts prefer being used as evidence.

Remember - it wasn’t that long ago that “standard camera footage on private cameras” was inadmissible in court. Only official CCTV was considered viable - and with the low-resness of such images where you could barely tell the race of the perp on camera - it was no wonder that the courts were reluctant to hear “footage as the only evidence” cases.
