The higher gears would be away from you, ie the gear layout was reversed. I actually preffered this setup like Sed Ak etc had on the 400, though not so keen on the 200 series one!

Thanks for the prompt reply .In these parts they are known as 15 overs 4 th and 5 th gear in the opposite position. I remember driving an ancient Bedford coach from the 1960s.with a Chinese box …I m showing my age here aren’t I ?

cheers Pete…i had that set-up on my SA 400…but can’t remember them being called ‘chinese’!
