Seen a write up about Cartwright supplying trailers, any info AIC60 (Chief Engineer) !!!
Where did you see the write up and was there any photos? Some articles have the trailer photo and others the 15 tonne cylinder rigid with full length side lift. I’ll ask the Engineer for the photos and put them on! If you see the trailer photo I am sure you will recognise the location!!!
These gas tanks were used for the transportation of Methyl Chloride from the Ineos site in Runcorn - although they look a bit tatty in the photos, they are not as old as they look Good thread by the way
The two old MC gas tanks look like ex ICI Mond Road Fleet tanks based at Bankes Lane Runcorn.Possibly built about 1980,and ran on the Ardeer and Barry jobs, cheers Ted.
One of two palletised trailers operating from the Calor cylinder reconditioning plant near Bury St Edmunds. These are used to collect empty cylinders from the Calor plants take them to be reconditioned and return them back like new. This trailer is loaded with 1,092 cylinders which are outbound to be reconditioned. This palletised system came from Ireland where it has been in use by Calor for a number of years.

Those MC tanks are not old enough to be in the ICI fleet as they were built in the early 2000’s - as can be seen in the photo’s, the stainless steel panel has the stencil " BUILT FOR TDG BY CLAYTON"
Hi Toxic - I don’t think they were as well built as the old ones - all the ICI stuff was made to a very high std I know a few old boys who were at banks lane on the road fleet - cheers
22 new 43ft cylinder trailers built by Cartwrights of Altrincham. 5th Dragoon will no doubt recognise the location!! This was part of 88 new trailers purchased this year for all Calor filling plant locations.
Thanks a lot for this topic, it really has made for very interesting reading. I appreciate it is not directly transport related, but does anybody have any pictures of Calor’s bottling plants?
