How do people have their hours worked out. I discovered yesterday that ours round up to the nearest quarter of an hour when you clock in and down to the nearest quarter of an hour when you clock out. is this a standard practice?

I work my own hours out and put them on my time sheet. I’ve always rounded up to quarter hours and have always without fail been paid what I book.
Clock in at 075* and out at 170* or whatever and you won’t have issues, clock in at 080* and out at 165* and you will. Whatever industry it is, normally expect to be docked time if more than 2 minutes late or leaving before time. Expect rigid enforcement for about a couple of months after a pay rise. If paid off the tacho then things get more interesting down to accuracy and vehicle keys.

Round up to quarter hours!-too generous by far . No wonder this industry is on it’s uppers . You should always be able to find a bulb out to make the half hour
