Calculate rigid axle weights

Hi,

I’m trying to calculate rigid axle weights. Its a 26t weighed at 10240 empty at weight bridge.

Thanks

Look on the vehicle plate!

Hi ,I believe if your load is near enough the max payload and a symmetrical one e.g. 15760 tonnes on 16 pallets and you know the front axle unladen weight then measure the wheelbase say 7 metres ,measure from drive axle centre to centre of load say 1 metre ,1 divide 7 is 0.14 multiply by payload 15760 gives you 2251 kgs add to front axle unladen weight say 5 tonne gives 7251 kgs ,so if your front axle is a7500 kg gross the you wouldn’t want the load much further forward ,to work out the weight on the rear axles together use the steering axle distance to load centre (6 m) and divide by the wheelbase (7m)is 0.85 then multiply by payload 15760 which gives 13508 kgs and add to the unladen weight of 2 rear axles say 5240 kgs is 18748 kgs which totals 26000kgs ,I’d think the way the air suspension is set up would distribute the weight correctly to the rear axles hope this helps and that I’ve remembered this correctly .
