Calais - Valencia

Afternoon, can someone please advise as to the best route to Valencia from Calais? Sat nav wants me to go via Paris and the Peripherique but am I correct in thinking trucks are banned from this at certain times? Would another route be better instead of Paris altogether?

Also, the tolls in France and Spain, are they done on the same tag?

Many thanks in advance.

You are ok going through Paris any time of day A86 and peripherique if your not botherd about the cost go calais-paris-clermot ferrand-perpignan-barca-valencia if u want cheap goParis then N10tours poitiers bordeaux irun.i got a dkv tag which does both French and spain (same tag) not sure about other tag supliers

What about going via Reims Troyes etc.

Boulogne sur Mer.Evreux.Dreux.Chatres.Or Millau viduct.Take the camera.Or Clemont Ferrond.
Or Poitiers.Tours.Bordeaux.Perpignan.
La Jonquera is the border and cab break ins are commin when you have a shower or meal stop.

You could go down one route and return another way.Free parking in France and Spain. If on the national roads in France you get an excellent five or six course drivers meal for ten to twenty euros at the Rouitiers.
In Spain you can park in the hotel parking area.Look out for menu del dia.Daily menu. Some are cheap for a room with air con to get out the cab.
If go Bordeaux to Irun border then to Pamplona to Sunbila to Tudela there is a short cut to avoid Zaragoza by turning to Dona Godina via Epila.
Good fast road to Teruel to Valencia.
Take all the fuel and bank cards and passport out of the cab if not in it.
If giing via Perpignan the giant truck rest area of La Jonquera is not that safe with cab break ins if in the shower. It is full of large buffet restaurants and casinos and eastern euro shops.
If you see buildings with club written in flashing lights be prepared to see up to one hundred ladies wearing just a bikini or bra and ■■■■■■■.

You will need two warning triangles for breakdowns. One at the rear of the truck and one at the front.Hi viz to be worn if broke down and you are standing in the road.
If the sat nav has mobile radar detection it has to removed in France.
On the toll motorways the food is very good. With a meal you are allowed a small jug of wine or beer.Buffet.Soup.Salad.Mains.Cheese.Pudding.Coffee included.
If you see the large supermarkets there is parking. They have restaurants inside.Good value and high quality meals. It is not illegal to buy Cs or pepper spray at truckstops they sell it but it is illegal for the Uk.
France has aire de repos on toll roads.Quiet rest areas in a forest away from traffic noise. With walking areas for dogs.
Spain has cold soup called Gaspachio.Breakfast is toasted baguete with olive oil and tomatoe juice or pastry cakes.Have fun.

Cheapest way is Rouen, alecon,le mans, tours, poiters, the N10 past angouleme,Bordeaux, irun then first exit across the border the national to Pamplona,Zaragoza, teruel,Valencia.

Off at Irun on the n121a to Sunbilla then to Pamplona which is a cracking road nowadays. …used to be the road of choice late on Saturday to get to the restaurant at sunbilla which is outside the basque region (sunday driving ban ) and after 9off head south

You should write a book Toby.

Bra and ■■■■■ ladies walking around La Jonquera hepling drivers with daily checks of checking wheel nuts and polishing the knobs on the cab dash.
They wear the same in the winter and stand by oil drums with a bonfire to keep warm. They are up in the small hilly roads around the environs of Barcelona.
The club experience is like The ■■■■■■■ mansion of Hugh Hefner in California. They dont mind if you just buy a drink.

From midday to three or four pm i would advise to pull over and park up in the shade if it is too hot to drive unless the cab has air con.
Most cafes allow smoking inside as the law allows the premises to be a certain size in square metres.
Some times i would drive at night when it is cooler with less traffic and not much police attention.Find a beach to swim in then off you go.
You will find the staff in restaurants and hotels are Eastern European and speak good Spanish or Catalan.

I’d genuinely buy it just to how my brain could cope with alternating quickly between laughing and complete confusion at the pure randomness.

But Toby does seem to be a hive of info.
