Have’nt seen many round calais in the past week.
It seems like they’ve turned there attention to the tunnel, might be something to do with the new fence being put up around calais docks. It’s the one they used for the NATO conference in South Wales a few weeks ago.
What’s needed is a whole lot of new infrastructure - paid for by Brussels, since this whole “freedom of movement” thing is all their bloody idea.
Infrastructure would consist of
(1) Every dockyard has a compound area that truckers can get into without queueing outside at all. This means fast-flow entry points, with the actual checkpoint being inside the compound.
The outside permimeter is patrolled by guys with guns, as you see at other Customs House type locations around Airports for example.
(2) Since there is now a minimised opportunity for people to storm the back doors of trucks, it should be easier for the regular authorities to round up stragglers hanging around the streets and surrounding countryside of Pas De Calais.
(3) Illegals over here should be illegals in France as well. Time to actually round up AND lock up all captured illegals.
If more customs staff are required - appoint them. If more police are required - Recruit them. If more armed guards are required - Arm them.
If the French in particular are going to keep on refusing to do their bit to “keep us in Europe” - then in the not too distant future, the UK might leave the EU, and bring in some rather draconian law and border enforcement of it’s own, and the Channel Tunnel in particular will become the 21st century “Berlin Wall” compared to what it has been of late.
THIS is bloody ridiculous and cannot be allowed to continue!

When i got done in 2008 with 5 in the back while waiting in the lanes ( co2 tester) i got held up for 24 hours with no food, no drink, no toilet facilities. i was taken to the port gendarmerie police station to be interviewed.
Guess what. as i,m sat there next to a german and a slovakian driver (the german had 16 illegals in the back, must of been a dynamo magic trick as he said the only place he stopped was at gent to get bottled water !!) and as i,m glancing out the barred window i sees my 5 illegals walking to freedom out off the back door ( spot the pun) of the cop shop. obviously wanting to get back into there place in the queue to do it again.
Do you know why the EU will never stop the free movement of people ( only supposed to be europeans though) because no other country has to put up with this on this level.
The incident highlights the massive dangers drivers face as they try to get to the UK in the front of their lorries while dangerous criminals run amock in the back.

While this is a tragedy for all concerned,why cant the human race work out some sort of means whereby we could all live peacably?Its 100 years since the war to end war and just zb look at ourselves.
