there isn’t anything to enforce, it’s just tactics to make people use the truckstops, and the idiots fall for it.
They certainly enforce the roads around the new(ish) Total and Pidou, parking on those roads is now definitely not allowed. But plenty of other areas in Calais to park, not that anyone would want to.
They definately enforce it I have sat in the IDS and watched them fining drivers
You Know it I know it…It’s know all’s that know eff all that cause the trouble.

i always find the back of the AS24 nice and quiet.
Do you mean at le dunne facing chemical factory?
AS24, 800 Rue Garennes, 62100 Calais. but “rue des oyats” is the street where i usually stop.
I think people that park there are nuts, I wouldn’t park there for a 9 let alone any longer. Same for rest of Calais

It’s a depressing hell hole
Just think of the worst industrial estate you can then add a few thousand illegal immigrants living in a shanty town that want to get in your truck then you will be somewhere close
The only place I would park in Calais is in Transmark it is safe secure and patrolled all night. Forget toys r us the taliban have been seen taking ‘passengers’ in and unloading them in the park into britsh trailers.

Its not all like that daleyboy it depends where you park same as anywhere
How about the parking area alongside the marina and Calais town centre - is that still permitted for trucks?

I think they have been clamping down on that big time i know you cant park on the beach anymore
All I’m saying is, park where you think you’ll be alright, and see what happens.
Folkestone was just fine. Cider a tad expensive but otherwise great
Turnip, you can park for free near the railway station off Cheriton road, with Morrisons on your left, then the big park,i used to have time off on a quiet residential street with no hassle or parking restrictions, its only 5 minutes to walk to town,Indian/Chinese buffet at the bottom of the hill.
I used to cycle to the power station, about 12 miles, there is a mini steam train for the tourists and a cafe at the light house.
I have swapped trailers on that street.
Cheers Toby thanks 4 tip.
