Cafe Beare Green A24

Used to be quite a good cafe at Beare Green, just a few mile south of Dorking on the A24.

Can any kind soul tell me if it’s still there and is it still OK? Opening time would also help a lot

If it’s the one I think it is,sits on a roundabout ? public phone box outside? parking for a few artics and rigids on a rough bit of ground? Don’t know the exact hours but they’re open much later than the average cafe.If it’s the same one its still going!

the roundabout just past the esso garage is the only one near bear green m8, at CAPEL. other than the curry house, which used to be a little chef theres nothing on that stretcxh of A24. :wink:

You’ve gotta be off your nut to eat there

I was told how good it was by some biker mates who go there on Sundays

So I made the mistake of stopping there :cry: :cry: :cry:

Is the bear green cafe the one that was (until recently ) owned by an ex PJ Brown driver on the section between Crawley & Horsham?

You’ve got a perfectly good cafe in the lock ups on the industrial est in Hailsham :wink: :laughing: .

OR

If you are going all the way down the A24 there is a lovely little cafe at the bottom.

Cant remember the name of the town it’s in but when you get to the doughnut with the A280 (Littlehampton) go straight over about a mile down you come to a parade of shops set back from the road with a service road.
Alongside the main road is a long layby you can normally get in there if not & you’re in a rigid you can park in the next road on the left after the shops.

The cafe is about 4 or 5 from the end southbound.

oops just remembered that cafe on the Horsham road is on the A264 not A24 :blush: :blush: :blush:

The cafe at Beare Green has been closed for some years now,the only ones I know in the area are The Juggrtnaut A264 at Faygate and the Chalet A281 south of Cowfold

I stopped at the cafe at Faygate last week for the night, tight parking,
very good meal and very friendly staff, £10 with meal.

NSH. (RYKAS) I’m certainly not off my mind. I remember Rykas when it was just a catering trailer. Learnt my lesson then.

Actually, I’m going barbel fishing in the river Mole at Dorking and want to get there early. That’s why I was asking about a cafe in the Dorking area.

Janet’s at Hailsham won’t be open when I leave.

I’ll probably use the Little Chef on the A25. (I know, I know, but I’m retired and can afford it)

Do you still pull for Hanburys? I was on Russell Davies for quite a while and remember how they used to rip the ODs off on the rates. Don’t expect they’ve changed a lot.

Nah not on for them anymore…I’m working for a living now doing flat work :wink: :laughing:
