Cab

It’s a unit or tractor unit. It’s not a cab! A cab is the bit at the front that you sit in. Probably shortened from cabin.

Technically it’s a tractive unit since it bears part of the load. A tractor unit just provides the traction and pulls a load that is self supporting.
It sure aint a cab.

Who cares?!
Anyone?
cue the tumbleweed

You mad brospeh?

It’s a cab…even in my truck where I have to stand up and actually walk to the bunk it’s a cab.

The English language is a wonderful thing, it evolves and many words can mean the same thing or even change their meaning over time. so if people use the word cab meaning the bit in front of the trailer that has an engine and it’s widely understood as such by most other people then it’s a cab.

Boredom. A word describing the syndrome which often affects lorry drivers who have too much time on their hands…

is that not spelt…ham shanking?

I believe that is Juan King is indeed a common pastime for lorry drivers DD.

Not my kind of thing in a wagon mate but then again as a day man I have no need to ■■■■■■■■■■ in a tin can. Got Mrs B for that kind of stuff

Careful mate, the word ■■■■■■■■■■ is probably ok, but words eluding to it are a grey area. Remember you can’t even post a link to a YouTube video with swearing anymore :unamused:

Know what you mean Jay.

We live in a country full of politically correct, tree hugging, ’ love thy neighbour ', snitching knobheads.

I fully expect that post to be replaced with:

<POST REMOVED, REASON- INSIGHTING HATRED>

Cabbage ?

Albert1:
Cabbage ?

Carrot

Cab (locomotive), the driving compartment of a locomotive
Cabin (truck), an enclosed space in a truck where the driver is seated
Civil Aeronautics Board
Controller anti-lock brake, see Anti-lock braking system
Taxicab, a type of vehicle for hire with a driver
Tractor unit of an articulated lorry, known in Britain as an artic cab

According to my girlfriend it’s the ‘fronty bit’.

Argument over.

Yes I’m happy with “fronty bit”. Cab annoys me. I don’t know why. Maybe I’m a grumpy old man? Maybe I’m sad person?

Now theres a thought…not likely a day cab will have been masturbated in but food for thought when looking over a used sleeper cab or…having to drive the company w@nk%rs truck when hes on holiday and yours is in for repair…

I always ’ de-contaminate ’ any wagon I drive Andrew.

Copious use of anti bacterial wipes.

Cab is what the press call it. Dunce heads. Dunce heads like the bbc one show. That dictionary entry probably comes from the amount of twonk hacks that refer to so and therefore it ends up in a dictionary. Is a unit, tractive unit/tractor unit/prime mover ( in Auz).

Anything but “cab” unless you’re on about the weather box you sit in. If you’re a lorry driver and you call a unit a cab you should have your plums ceremoniously smeared with fith wheel grease, one trouser leg cut off and sent embarrisingly on your way from the “gentlemans lorry club of Mayfair” with your shredded tacho card in top pocket and your vi viz stuffed up your arss.
