Cab tilt on a Volvo FL6

Hi all. Anyone know if the cab tilt mechanism is removed on fire engines?

I can’t find either a pump or switch to tilt the cab on a Volvo FL6. Could someone tell me where I would find this on a normal FL6 cab.

My newness to all this really shows doesn’t it

Not sure but is it on the bottom nearside step and needs a socket to pump it up

Hi Mate,
What age is your volvo? Just behind the drivers door is a panel that you can open, you should find the pump to tilt the cab inside, Make sure the bleed valve is shut before you start pumping. The bar for the pump should be under the front grill. (DON’T FORGET TO OPEN IT BEFORE YOU TILT THE CAB OTHERWISE YOU WILL CAUSE DAMAGE) If it still has ladders on you will need to slip them of the back before you tilt the cab.

Got the cab tilted. I think a knob or something is missing from the lever that is pulled to release the cab. I attached mole grips and pulled with the safety lever out and the cab popped free. It is behind the cab on the offside. Thanks for your help
