Do you sleep better in the cab or at home? The public have no idea how large the space is in the cab until you show them.
Most assume drivers still use digs and we do not sleep in the cabs.
What do you mean by large, if it was a cell in jail it would be banned.
I have bought a customised foam mattress. The truck manufacturers make dismal beds.Too thin.
Got to admit, it is a nice feeling to pull over the cab curtains and turn the phone off.
When I was tramping I used to sleep better in the cab than at home, long hours and plenty of stripping tilts probably helped.
Now I probably sleep better in the lodging I use when I’m working away, the fact it’s also a pub might help,
But to be honest I haven’t slept well since I went to Nam,
Yep going to Fakenham has a lot to answer for.
I’ll get my coat.
Always sleep well in the lorry but then again I sleep well anywhere
I always sleep well in the lorry because if I’m on a night out, I’m on max hours and pretty tired. Sleep grand at home as well though.

The public don’t give a toss that’s why, and why should they, it’s just a job, and because it’s not their job then they have no reason to be interested.

Most have no idea what digs are, or that drivers used to use them for nights out.
You really under estimate the public in thinking that they don’t know a driver sleeps in his truck overnight!
Tend to sleep better at home. Usually because of the pee bedtime activities

Quite right the public dont give a toss. Do you give a toss how a newspaper is printed as long as you can read it. Same as the bloke who prints the newspaper dont care about a lorry drivers job all he cares about is has the driver delivered his stuff to the shops.

Wait til you’ve been shackled for 18 years, then pee bedtime activities are putting the dog out and telling yoor son to get off the bloody Xbox.

You don’t know Man, you weren’t there Man.
That bitterly cold winter of 10, the things I saw, men being injured because the terrain so dangerous they would slip over on the ice, you just didn’t know when it might be you, you lived on the edge all the time just knowing there was a patch of ice with your name on it,
and then not being able to wash the trucks at the end of a shift, because the washer was frozen.
I don’t talk about it too much, people just don’t believe men could survive such hardship.
But it’s bond all us who were there for that week always have.
Agree about the rock hard bed in scanias. I have no problem sleeping in a Volvo fh, I love everything about the Volvo fh.
Always sleep better at home. I’m quite a light sleeper, so any rain, wind (Arbroath on Weds night was like trying to sleep in a snow globe being vigorously shaken!) or even owls hooting tend to bring me round.
I quite like the fact when kipping in the wagon I get all the covers
No problem with my old Scania bed, I sleep through anything…even last nights storm, I thought it was a non even until the locals told me otherwise
