What laws on cab heights? If you mean the - " It’ll be illegal to do nights out unless you have a Globetrotter/Topliner/Super Space style cab" thing, then that is just wishful thinking by drivers.

Didn’t that one hit it’s highest MMTM urban myth chart position when the Magnum came out

The only requirment i know about is the truck must have a bunk, the height of the truck cab does not matter. :sunglasses:

ok, thanks, i was told that some law on cab hieight was coming in as you had to be able to stand up in the cab…which isnt the case then?
just needed some advice on it, as i didnt want to get find out there, if it was true…just thought i would get an answer on the subject on this site!!! :frowning:

Afraid not. This one has been doing the rounds for years now but as I said it is just wishful thinking on the drivers part.

I am pretty sure that is not the case either, some drivers don’t sleep in their cabs and many East European trucks especially 7 1/2 tonne trucks, with two drivers and day cabs have one sleep across the seats and the other sleep in the back

It is the case. To take a daily, or weekly, rest in a vehicle it must have suitable sleeping facilities for each driver and the vehicle must be stationary. Across the seats is not counted as suitable sleeping facilities. A fold away bunk in a day cab is legal.

You can night out in a day cab!!! providing it has a bunk!!!.

Forget all this good advice. You will need a tape measure and you are not allowed to sleep in a truck cab if your head is within 17 inches of the steering wheel :stuck_out_tongue:

Well thats what MMTM
