Cab curtains

The night driver has every right to have a sleep on his shift. If he fell asleep at the wheel and killed himself or any other road users the Traffic Commisioner will close them down.
Just because he does nights ,he will need curtains for privacy.
This is not a good way to treat drivers.
If they are planning shifts so the night man has no time to rest, that is bad planning and not safe.

I’d like to see where that’s written LEGALLY …
so EVERY COMPANY if your right MUST supply a Vehicle with a sleeper for any Night driver …

Keep taking the pills fella :unamused:

Nope. That’s not what he said at all. Read it again fella.

I apoligise and withdraw the remark.
There is still no requirement to have curtains or a bunk fitted though not even a night heater for that matter though .

If they have removed the curtains, maybe hang a bed sheet .

Just ask traffic office if they know what has happened to the curtains, they will either have to say they don’t know or we don’t like you sleeping in the cab or they will make up a load of bulsh1t

Am I reading this right a diver who gets paid to work nights stops to sleep while being paid so company takes curtains out to stop him. Seems a good idea to me if the driver cannot stay awake all night maybe he needs to find another job or if the truck is not needed for a day driver do a deal with company to park up unpaid for a couple of hours.

It’s bad enough having the office staff whining about drivers stopping for a short nap without our fellow driviers joining in. And anyway, as I said above, it wouldn’t stop me sleeping if I needed to.

As if taking the curtain out will stop him from having a kip, amateurs.
