Cab Curtains

On the hunt for some PLAIN, no frills cab curtains for a DAF XF105.

Not interested in tartan, tassels or frills…but damned if I can find any!!!

Would anyone out there have any suggestions?

I’ve got hold of a couple of people I know with sewing machines to see what they can do, but is anything available off the shelf?

Buy some frilly ones.

Go to a truckstop.

Cut the frills off.

Voila.

Use frills as a mop to dry up tears from the frilly brigade.

Make anything you want and quality.

If you know someone with a sewing machine, the world is you lobster,. Go to dunelms, find the reduced priced curtians, you want thermal door curtians, 90" drop 36-42" wide, and either buy a pack of daf curtian hooks(from eBay).then measure from curtian rail to lowest point, then around the track halfway add 6",. Cut each curtian to size, stich up all ends and sides then hand stich in the hooks 1 about every 4", add frilly bits if you require.

Mine cost £25.00, + flowers to the lady who made them, mine are lined and have frilly bits, when closed it goes dark, also they keep heat out in summer, and heat in winter

Thankyou BG, yes, slowly getting there mate. I want my monster back but Mrs G is now calling it her ‘bebe’ (baby) so i may have problems there, im still leaving it to her to shred those rear tyres… :grimacing:

Cheers folks, had suspected altering or making some would be a cheaper/easier option.

Not against frilly curtains, just not my preference really.

I bought a pack of plain black pencil pleat blackout curtains from Dunelm to go in front of the bunk for £23, and the hooks from eBay for £6 as the OEM curtains are crap, a pack of 30 hooks will go across the bunk, you’ll need 2x, 3x more hooks if you want to go around the windscreen.
When buying curtains this way, remember the size on the packet is the size for 1 curtain, but you’ll have 2 in the pack, this allows for the gathering up

For those of that disposition we could give them a nickname like “The Thimbles” or some such…

I only bought the blackout curtains as I’m a light sleeper and any light creeping thru the OEM cab curtain is enough to wake me, and as a limper im able to hang and take em down & pack these in my night out bag minutes. I wouldn’t stoop down low enough to buy curtains for around the window
