We got on like a house on fire. Regards Kev. Ps young?? Iain has a shot of your motor at Birtley services when you were delivering the wages, he’s going to put it on the Ackworth/Onward thread shortly.

Lets be fair guys, Al (A.B) would probably walk past his own Mother/Brother/wife in tescos and pretend not to know them!! He’s even handed that way even if he wasn’t in handing out the work!!
AND TBH Roy, IMHO depending on which attributes of rope and sheet you were claiming (speed, neatness?)- Kenty and Dizzy Des must have been quickest, and Ron Harrison was extremely neat! I’ve got one of Barker’s old Traffic sheets somewhere with everybody on it! I’ll see if I can find it.
Nice to hear you’re all still sipping that cup of diesel!
Neil S

hiya neil, dizzy dez now let me see, this is a true story, when des & mick booth were shunting in crystal drinks, I used to carry a little notice to put in cab window, with the wording as follows ( the driver of this vehicle did not rope & sheet this trailer ) just in case I picked up a loaded tr from chrystal which was quite a lot      cos des looked after me because we are mates   so to be fair to des the sheets were designed for 48 pallets of bottles not a single deck load, but back to sheeting, there was only 2 drivers anywhere near me for neatness-security-all dollys in a line-so much so you could look from the back of the trailer and see straight through the dolly holes and that was on a windy day,    so a on a nice warm sunny day well what can I say except wheres my trumpet    forgot to mention the drivers names, have a guess    ■■■■■■ & ■■■■ o leaky, and they were way behind      wheres the salt

No wagons though!! they cost too much to run now!!
