c+e

hey rog just wonderin do you think my licence will be back on time the examiner took it on the 21/4/08 when i passed the rigid test ive just had the date for the c+e and its the 13th of may thanks hope to hear from you soon m8 cheers

Well jokey, if its not back by then I guess it will be lost!

Do they take you’re license now then ?

Just curious because they used to just give you a pass certificate.

The examiner offers to process your licence for you when you pass, and if you agree he takes it off you and shreds it in the test centre actually, but then he informs ‘head office’ and a new licence is issued. You do get a blue pass certificate but need your licence back with the CE provisional entitlement on it before you can drive CE.

OK, thanks for that.

Don’t like the sound of that

from other posts on this site, I would say within 2 weeks - the DVLA are on strike tomorrow so that will delay it by one day :exclamation: :exclamation:

The big problem isn’t so much the test, but the training. When does it start? If it is a week long course, then be prepared for a bit of a sweat - doubt that your trainer would take the risk of taking you out on the road without you actually having seen your licence - even if he put you through your C test.

Hopefully however it will arrive in time - and with that all the best for your test :exclamation: :exclamation:

mine took 15 days !

BUMP…

Just one other little thing that might just be worth checking out with a quick call to the DVLA - what is the actual date of issue of your CE provisional?

The reason I ask this is as follows - it took just over a fortnight for me to get my licence back when I passed my C test (about the going rate if other posters are anything to go by) - but I’ve just checked that my CE provisional was actually issued within the week.

This looks as though it could be something of a grey area. If the licence has been officially issued, then it may be possible for you to legally start your training from that issue date. Easy for you - and your trainer - to check. Just ring the DVLA and quote your driver number. But as I’ve said before, there might be matters for your trainer to address - most especially insurance - that might actually need you to have your licence about you.

And don’t forget the last big thing - as the DSA are so keen on saying - NO LICENCE - NO TEST :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation:
