I am seeking some advice on getting my class1 to enable me to get back in to the transport industry.
I’m 41 Years old and live on the Dorset coast, i currently hold a class2 license that i have held since 1992 (acquired in the army). I have’nt driven LGV 2 commercially for about 8 years now.
Does anyone have any experience of or can they recommend a training provider local to myself.
I have found 2 based in Exeter, 1 caqlled Transplant mastertrain on the website it say they have an off road area you can practise reversing to your heatrs content any body got any experience of this firm?
Also regarding CPC what would i need to do prior to C+E and upto 2014?

You have acquired rights so don’t need to do the initial dcpc and can drive commercially to 2014 with no further training. If you do the 35hrs training it’ll give you a further 5 years from 2014.

A lot of jobs im seeing advertised say C+E, plus a min of 14 hours cpc. would that mean that as i have acquired rights i have all 35 hours cpc until 2014 and could apply for these jobs once i have passed C+E and say i have all 35 hours?

What they want is for drivers like yourself to have done at least 14 hours of the current dcpc - that is 14 of the 35 required by 09/09/2014 which is for the 5 year period from that date
