C&E Europe this week - patience & warm underwear req

It usually snows and temps are around -10C this time a year there so nothing really surprising.
Just that it snowed quite a lot over the weekend, especially in the eastern SK and north-eastern H with some places getting 50cm overnight. The situation gets better as the supply is getting cleared today, but the snow keeps falling and more snow and temps down to -20 are forecast for the rest of the week.
In CZ night temps dropped to -30 at places last week breaking historical records. Problem no.1 at the moment is wind that blows snow around reducing visibility and forming snowdrifts across roads. Accidents are rife - e.g. an artic went through central reservation of the D1 this morning and block the whole motorway for couple of hours. Forecast for the week is more snow, stronger winds.
The police in Austria are out checking tyres and chains
And then there is second wave of protest against electronic toll in Slovakia - dozens of lorries have been blocking roads at Ruzomberok, Banska Bystrica and Presov since morning. Polish drivers helped Slovaks to block Trstena border crossing and so did Czechs at Drietoma. Only one lane is blocked so the traffic moves but a at a reduced rate and queues reach kms. The disruptions will go on for few days (at least) with varying intensity and locations.

So, put the kettle on and check the new recruitment shot of Austrian army!
