C + E Driver required

On Indeed Driver required in Tonbridge, For Delivery of household furniture, which with a Mate…you will assemble…Got no problem putting a flat pack together… But the thought of getting an article to an household address make driving down Soho look possible…If someone on this site does go for it (probably got a death wish ) Really be pleased to hear how you got on…I will look for the Broadmoor post stamp

Probably be in a wag and drag with swap body boxes on…

Don’t see the problem with it. Deliveries are made daily to household addresses with white goods, DIY/building products etc, not my cup of tea but I’m sure somebody will be happy(ish) doing it.

Don’t look at me…I can’t spell DYI.

Done that sort of ■■■■■■■■ single manned in an 18t. That wasn’t fun. Because I was delivering to “businesses” I was on my own. Had a full load, most was to tip into a storage locker for the local delivery guys (with sprinters) to do. I was lucky they were there, couldn’t move a fridge on my own…

Didn’t go there again! (PJH in Cannock. Get the plague instead)

Maybe another example of a pattern in that the Brits can have the jobs that the East Euros don’t want. :smiling_imp: :unamused:

I replied to a similar advert a few years ago. When I went for the interview the truck was in the yard, a 7.5 ton VW/Man.
I asked why he wanted a C+E for that and the reply was, “because I wanted a proper driver”. Perhaps this is the same, almost certainly it won’t be a 44 ton multi axle outfit.

Was it proper wages though?

No wages were rubbish, holidays were 2 weeks per year (the wife LOVED that idea).
So I politely said “not today thank you” and left, only to fall into 2nd best job of my life the next week. Good Karma!.
