C+e auto unit training

Could anyone tell me where the nearest trainer is for c+e auto unit for worcester as most ive seen so far are truck and drag and would rather train in unit .

Hi

We’re not local but we offer residential training at no extra cost - and you get 10% Trucknet discount.

Makes it £1215 all inclusive.

And we’re one of the very few DSA LGV Accredited Training Centres in the UK.

Pete

Well worth learning in a proper unit if that’s what you intend to drive

MAN TGS 400 with a 45’ triaxle curtainside trailer. Hope that counts as “proper”!

Pete

I thought advertising was no longer allowed in the threads My Smythe ?

You seem to have acquired a taste for advertising your own company in the threads at every opportunity.

I think the forum sponsor has the ok to do that as they are paying for it

Paying to use the new drivers forum as a personal advertising board ? :open_mouth:

One thing you might find interesting tachograph is …
How do I put this in a nice balanced way?
The fact is that us driver training schools, Elmet, Chevron, LGV Trainer, all the other knowledgeable instructors on the forum have had our signatures removed, only us, not kind folk like yourself with no offence nothing to offer Peter competition. So now in many ways whenever we post a message it makes zero business sense, I’m possibly just wasting my time as my company details/signature have been deleted.

I did ask the forum management if I could be a sponsor but was given various prices between £1500 and £3000 per month, our small family driving school can’t justify that cost.

I’m under no illusion that internet is free, its run by advertising and its big business. By removing all our signatures this gives users less choice on choosing a training provider. I doubt that myself and other training schools would have a problem paying say £100 a month to retain our signatures, be able to quote prices and offer deals, but I’ve discovered that this is not possible.

Perhaps the key thing to remember here is that the forum is run by a magazine company, the only way it can become a totally free and unbiased place is to be removed from being connected with a business.

Don’t wish any bad feelings by this post, heck it might even get deleted by admins, but I’ve been a member on here for many years and well, its got to rock bottom and what its worth to new drivers looking for advice when it is becoming just another advertising board masquerading as a free place.

It’s ok down the side when he’s paying for it, but it’s getting a bit much when it’s in nearly every post

All those training schools that have the name of their school as their username are advertising every time they post because those reading are also noticing that fact

Anyone wanting to know more from those schools only has to google them

If I had my own school then I reckon I would have chosen the username - ROG’s LGV LEICESTER

For several years I contributed to this forum and eventually overstepped the mark with the mention of our services. So I did the honourable thing, paid a substantial sum to sponsor the forum, and was given permission to advertise within it. The forum has running costs which have to come from somewhere and I am happy to help with that.

I have never resorted to posting photos of our new vehicles and don’t encourage trainees to do so on our behalf. I frequently spend a great deal of time helping via email and pm without any financial gain. I am a professional trainer of over 40 years standing and enjoy assisting folks in their quest. I also need to earn a living and, if some folks decide to use our service, that’s the financial reward. The fact is that few trainers offer the same as us so it’s surely correct to let it be known that options are available.

If the OP cant locate an automatic artic in his area, I don’t see the harm in offering him one of our residential courses. I don’t pester folks via pm but always respond to enquires about our services and general questions about training.

Time to stop bickering and continue to help newbies achieve their aim.

Pete

So just to put my views on this…

I respect Pete for paying a considerable amount for sponsoring the forum so he justifiabley has the right to advertise in his posts.

As the OP says it does get a little OTT when in its all the time.

But what annoys me the most is when the “residential course” is mentioned all the time. We all need to make a living but trying to poach trainees from around the UK is not nice.

I’m a firm believer of using local businesses and feel this forum is a little cut throat at the moment.

Of course it’s the customers choice where he/she chooses to train but trying to recruit from outside the trainers catchment area is not really fair play.

Brokers do far worse than perhaps take an odd trainee who may look on this site and then decide to go to PSTT instead of a more local provider IMO

I wasn’t talking about brokers Rog. Begs the question are you on commission for Peter?

Paul

It might be worth giving Paul Williams down in Gloucester a call. They didn’t have an automatic unit when I class C with them in December. But it’s worth a shot in case they’ve bought one since.

EH !!

I know you were not talking about brokers - I just made a realistic comparison as to where efforts and comments need to be made if local trainers were concerned about trainees being ‘poached’

My post was about supporting local training schools, you appear to be very defensive about PSTT and don’t really have many good words about other training schools on here despite many members posting good reviews about them!

Paul

All PSTT posts put me off from using him. Cant stand it when someone who is doing well is begging on here and before someone moans then yes it is begging and his smiling faces he puts in his sig just makes it look like he’s laughing in everyones faces.
