Hi all. I’ve been a m/c courier for about 13 years & have had enough of the winter weather but still like being out on the road. Thinking of upping sticks & travelling round the country but need to earn while I go. Was thinking that, if I’m in an area for a couple of weeks or months, maybe I could get the odd trucking job to keep me afloat.
Is that realistic? Can you do one-off runs, or is it a case of building trust with an employer over a long time? If I worked for an agency perhaps I could build a good record with them so I’d be a trusted temp & find work that way, as cover for sickness or whatever.
Really couldn’t advise you as I haven’t come across this before. But it normally takes a while to get established so it may be flawed. Hope I’m wrong and good luck with it. Pete
6 points or less■■? can you walk with a limp and chew chewing gum at the same time■■? have you no sense of shame■■? can you limp and wear a flashing bluetooth earpiece■■? do you have the ability to completely trash someones shiny new cab within seconds??..if you an answer yes to those questions, then every single agency in the uk wants YOU asap.after they get you, then they may not want to keep you as most wont give a toss about you untill they cant get anyone else to do the scabby run they have for someone,at that point, you wil become sought after again.
