OK, I admit it, I am hyped and need to tell the world (or this very small part of it).
Seven weeks ago I had only my car licence. 26th January I passed my C, 23rd February I passed my C+E, both thanks to Peter Smythe Training.
Today, 13th March, I had my induction drive of 112 miles in an artic, my first time in an automatic truck. Tomorrow is my first shift on my own. A nice easy one, Durham to Dunbar and back empty.
When I get over the euphoria I may do another post about how I did my job hunting.
But for now I will settle for posting a picture of ‘my new wheels’.
Thanks to everyone on here who has helped and encouraged me to get this far.
Congrats Alan and that saying “your never to old”…also Alan , what did you pass your LGV 1 in ? thats right a jumped up 7-5t with a caravan in tow and the new wheels are a fully fledge artic so that’s that argument put to bed.
Thanks to everyone for the congratulations and the support.
To those of you who are still waiting for their big break; keep on trying. If I can find a job here in the North East there is hope for everyone.
Still hyper though - even did the washing-up in my new found state of euphoria.
Not bad for somebody who wasn’t going to make the grade! - Yes Gary, not too bad in the end, eh?

Proves a lot of things - well done! - point well made, Peter. Certainly proves a few to me.
So you’re over the hill, done all your tests and got a job in 7 weeks in the North East? PM me your choice of numbers for the Euro draw…well done auld yin!
