atkidave’s Dad who is restoring it will test drive it Casey, as he drove artics for many years before restoring classic commercial vehicles.
Cheers Dave.

But I’m sure I would be far more objective than atkidave and could make a constructive appraisal of the vehicle and it’s restoration if he would let me tour around the countryside in it for a few months.

I was serving petrol which was dearer than diesel in 1963 for under a £1 for four gallons.
Cheers Dave.

4s8d a gallon, if memory serves, Dave. And the cheaper “Commercial” grade was 4s6d.
And Champion spark plugs were five bob each, Wills’ Wild Woodbines were 1/6d for ten and a pint of Whitbread Tankard was 1s8d.
Cider was a shilling a pint when I started drinking it and it was REAL cider, too, not the “Slightly Apple Flavoured Fizzy Alcohol” they sell these days.
