Oakley transport was run by three brothers Arthur Trevor and roger they fell out that’s why rotherwas started Arthur still going the other 2 last heard off was in jail for theft of plant machineryHi smallcoal , was it Oakley transport or Rotherwas transport that did Batchelors scrap off cuts at Llanelli ? regards Keith .
Hi Keith it was oakleys we didn’t pull out of Llanelli with rotherwas we did a lot out of metal box neath
Hi smallcoal thanks for that , i had noticed that Oakleys had tipper trailers in their fleet , and wondered it was for the off cuts . regards Keith .
Hi Keith the tippers were used for scrap can lids and the steel they cut it out off illtyd Thomas used them then when tipped dropped the sides then used as flatbeds

Hi smallcoal , yes Illtyd Thomas serving the 2 metal box sites at Leicester remember very well , as at Poole . I can not say i can recall Oakleys at either of these places , but didnt Owens begin to stamp their authority as well at these locations at a later date ? fair play those ERFs of Illtys did look the part !!
Hi Dave , Vincent Greenhouse at Lyde had a few customers in the Hereford area , like ABE transport , John Bevan and Gammond had a big Detroit powered TM . Does any body remember a Hereford haulier named Sheppard Transport ? regards Keith .

Just spoke to Pat Hazel who is driving the roadtrain, who says it wasn’t one of Williams of Wigmore, but one Johnnie Price bought from up North, and Andrew Bowen later converted the trailer to a tri-axle, which is parked just outside Leominster at a farm thes days.
Cheers Dave.

You could be right about that Pete. The Price family are from the same area, and it could be a Trucknet member driving it.
Cheers Dave.
Don’t want to sound rude but would she have any life left in her after Williams had her?ta,Pete
